Grenade Attack In Pattani Wounded Many Mushrikeen In Thailand

.

PATTANI, Thailand – Two mushrik soldiers were wounded when one of them stepped on a mine bomb while checking a crime scene yesterday morning (31/7/2011), while some people were reportedly wounded when a hand grenade was thrown at a tea stall in the district of Mae Lan.

After a report that the house of a postman, Ban Pa Kapor, had been shot by a weapon of war and the nearest army checkpoint was burned on Friday night, forensic soldiers went to the scene to investigate and gather evidences.

They found and destroy a landmine near the post, but a female soldier, Sujirada Inmuang (29), tripped on another mine. The blasts wounded her left leg and some of the splinters also hurt Sergeant Somwong Petsing (51).

Security officials put up warning signs prohibiting people from entering the area which is an abandoned large portion of land and may have been planted with many landmines on it.

They planned for an inspection in the next two months after every remaining bomb will have expired its active period.

Earlier, one of two men on a motorcycle, threw a hand grenade at the tea stall in the district of Mae Lan, wounding Tambon Mae Lan, an administrative member of Mae Lan, Manee Maneerat and a former railway worker, Euan Sornkaew.

Police investigators found that six local policemen and eight local residents were in drinking tea at the stall owned by Sergeant Major Weerapong Pomsakul, a policeman of Mae Lan, when two men threw a grenade from their motorbike.

It is still unclear who was behind these events, but the mushrik authority of Thailand blamed the Mujahideen of Pattani in the grenade throwing act.
