Putri Munawwarah Sentenced To 3 Years In Jail

JAKARTA – The trial verdict against the defendant of a “terrorism” case, Putri Munawwarah, which took place on Thursday 29th July 2010 in the State Court, South Jakarta, ultimately sentenced Putri to three years imprisonment.

The sessions began at 12:40 hour local time and ended at around 13:30 hour. It was attended by many supporters of Putri Munawwarah, especially from amongst the women. Before the trial began, the women, a majority of them wearing veils, had set up a banner which says "FREE PUTRI MUNAWWARAH & HER BABY FROM THE BARBARISM OF DENSUS 88 AND ITS ALLIES (LAKNATULLAH 'ALAIKUM AJMA'IN)", but this action was stopped immediately by the officers after being asked by the judge.

At last, the presiding judge Ida Bagus Dwiyantara pronounced: “bringing to justice, declaring the defendant legally and convincingly violating Article 13 b PERPU (substitute for government regulation laws) No. 2002 about the eradication of terrorism criminal offence and amended to UU (Law) No. 15/2003. Convicting the defendant to 3 years imprisonment minus the detention period.”

The spectators right away let out cries of takbeer and disappointment over the rulings believed to be oppressive to Putri Munawwarah, a former Qur'an teacher at Pesantren Al-Kahfi Mojosongo.

During the trial, judge Ida Bagus Dwiyantara spoke with a very low and unclear voice, this had made the visitors protested, "Mister, this is an open court hearing, not a hearing of whispers" said a veiled woman who sat in the second row.

The judge then asked Putri Munawwarah whether to accept the verdict, or think to appeal, she was given a period of seven days.

Although this decision was lighter than the demands of the JPU (public prosecutor) i.e. eight years, the TPM (Team of Muslim Lawyers) disagreed with the reasoning of the judge about the existence of an agreement between Putri and her husband, Adib Susilo, as referred by Ahmad Michdan, Putri's lawyer: "The fact of the trial was clear that she had expressed to her husband, asking who those visitors were and until when would they be there? Meaning, there is no element of basic agreement in receiving the guests. This is the difference in judgement between us and the panel," Ahmad, said after the trial in the State Court, South Jakarta, Thursday (29/7/2010) as quoted from Kompas.

The decision of the judge who penalized Putri for two years in jail is very oppressive. In this particular case Putri is clearly not guilty. Putri stated that she never knew that her husband's guest who stayed in their home was Noordin M. Top.

After the hearing, the women visitors took action by giving speeches outside the courtroom while again unfurling the banner. This action was as an expression of disappointment over the decision of the trial. “Putri is utterly innocent. This is all oppression against the Muslims on the pretext of combating terrorism. If we are accused of being terrorists, then give birth to the terrorists from your womb, O mothers,” said some of the content of the protest and demonstration, spontaneously organized by the Muslimah who attended the hearing of Putri Munawarah.

One thing that should have become the concern of the judge in adjudicating Putri is that, Putri is having a child who is still an infant and all these while has been treated in custody. So, it is a very oppressive action if Putri is till sentenced to 3 years in jail while she also has to take care of her baby. Therefore, the resistance must continue, the fight is not over! Allahu Akbar!

JAKARTA – Approaching the trial verdict against the female defendant of a “terrorism” case, Putri Munawwaroh, scheduled for Thursday 29th July 2010, a SMS text message containing an invitation to attend the hearing was circulating amongst the Islamic activists, especially in the area of Jakarta.

Putri Munawwaroh is the widow of the late Susilo Adib who was killed by the Densus 88 team on the night of 27th Ramadhan last year. Also killed in the late night raid were Noordin M Top, Urwah alias Bagus Budi Pranoto, Mistam Husamudin alias Aji and Susilo Adib. Putri Munawwaroh survived the attack after being heroically protected by her husband who died with the face destroyed by gunshot bullets.

Now it is almost the month of Ramadhan again, meaning Putri Munawwaroh had been in jail for nearly a year with her son who was born while in prison and given the name Muhammad Ahsanu Syuhada.

The SMS text message of appeal and support was noticed to be circulating since Monday 26th July 2010, as received by the editorial of MuslimDaily in Jakarta.

The content of the SMS says: "JIHAD GLOBAL COMMUNITY: Ikhwanifidien... Insha Allah, Thursday 29/7 at 09:00 hour, a VERDICT against ukhtina fillah Putri Munawwaroh (Indonesia's first female defendant in the “terrorism” case) will be set, in the District Court, Amprera Raya Road, South Jakarta. Hoping for supports from Islamic mass organizations to invite the akhwats in their surroundings to be present at the verdict against the concerned as a form of Ukhuwah Islamiyah.... PLEASE PASS ON!"

It is just appropriate the we as Muslims should respond to these calls, for those who are capable, because moral support is very needed for a woman who is being tyrannized. Hopefully this appeal can be taken seriously by the Islamic organizations and Muslims who hear and know about this information.

Women and Jihad Fie Sabilillah

Allah Ta’ala says:

وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَمِنْ رِبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ وَآخَرِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِمْ لا تَعْلَمُونَهُمُ اللَّهُ يَعْلَمُهُمْ وَمَا تُنْفِقُوا مِنْ شَيْءٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ يُوَفَّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ لا تُظْلَمُونَ

“Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.” (QS Al-Anfal:60)

The Duty Of Every Muslim Is To Preach The Kalimah Of Tawheed

“Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom[1] and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance.” (QS An-Nahl: 125)

[1] Wisdom: are firm and right words that can distinguish between the haq (truth) and bathil (falsehood).

However, when da'wah towards the way of the Lord is hindered or even fought against, then Jihad is what would transpire.

“Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.” (QS Al-Baqarah: 190)

“And fight them on until there is no more Tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah. but if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression.” (QS Al-Baqarah: 193)

There are times when the jihad of the women is to go on hajj (pilgrimage) or umrah.

From ‘Aishah Radliyallaahu ‘anha (RA): I said: “O Rasulullah, are the women obligated to go for jihad?” He answered: “Yes, the jihad that have no war in it, i.e. hajj and umrah.” Riwaayah Ibnu Majah and its origins is the Book of Bukhari.

But sometimes, inevitably, women are also affected by the obligation to participate in jihad fie sabilillah.

Rasulullah SAW included the participation of women in battles. They treated injured people. Rasulullah never gave them a part of the war spoils but give them from the surplus (remnants) of the distribution. (HR. Muslim)

Ibnu Qadamah Al-Hanbali said: the preconditions of the people affected by the obligation of jihad are seven i.e. Islam, baligh (in adulthood), sane, free, male, no fatal physical defect and the availability of monetary resources (funds). (Al-Mughni 10/366) Then, he added these requirements; the parental consent and permission to the debtor from the creditor. (Al-Mughni 10/381).

All the nine requirements apply in the state of jihad that is fardhu kifayah, if jihad is upgraded to fardhu 'ain, then the four preconditions would be dropped i.e. free, male, parental consent and permission to the debtor from the creditor. Therefore, the preconditions during the jihad that is fardhu 'ain are only five; Islam, baligh, sane, free from fatal physical defect and the availability of funds. Here, even the requirement of the availability of funds will be dropped when the enemies are attacking into the country (invasion).

All these preconditions have been set by the fuqaha (jurists) of the various recognized madzhabs, such as from the madzhab of Hanafi Alauddin Al-Kasani whom issued the fatwa: When the calls for battle are cried out as a result of the enemies' invasion of the country, it becomes fardhu `ain, obligatory upon every head of the Muslims, who fulfill the preconditions, based on the verses of Allah, “Go ye forth, (whether equipped) lightly or heavily,” (QS At-Tauba : 41). Hence, the slave goes to war without the permission of his master, THE WIFE WITHOUT HER HUSBAND'S CONSENT, as well as the child without his parent's permission. (Nihayatul Muhtaj 8/85) Fatwas that support this are plentiful.

From the above fatwa, we can know that there are times when jihad becomes fardhu ‘ain for every individual, inclusive of the women (whether they are still single or already married). Women had been plunging into the arena of jihad, also triggered by the fact that sometimes the enemy forces had female soldiers who waged war against the Muslimahs. Then inevitably, the women of the Islamic ummah must also participate to become the defence fortress of the Muslimahs by fending off the attacks of the soldiers from the kafir, murtadin or munafiqeen women, or any others who are attacking the Muslimahs or children, apart from their duties in treating the wounded as the Messenger of Allah had said as above.

Sometimes, the thaghut are tyrannizing; intimidating the Muslim women when their husbands, parents or the Muslim men are not there to protect them. There are also times when the Muslimeen are cornered by the attacks of the enemies, which requires the Muslimahs to come down to the arena of jihad, protecting their wounded siblings or the Muslims generally, and fight to the best of their abilities; defending their religion and for the sake of implementing the words of Rasulullah below:

From Sa’id bin Zaid RA, he said: Rasulullah SAW said, which means: “Whoever is killed while guarding his/her property is shaheed, whoever is killed while defending him/herself is shaheed, whoever is killed while defending his/her religion is shaheed, and whoever dies protecting his/her family is (also) shaheed.” (HR. Abu Dawud and Tirmidzi).

In these conditions, the Muslimahs, whether they like it or not, must have some skills and abilities to defend themselves, within the capacity that they possess, to deal with the period when their participations are required in the jihad arena or in all of the conditions described above. For that reason, women also need to do i`dad (with whichever military skills they are capable of) so that if at a later date when encountering or having to face situations like these, they can protect themselves or even the other Muslims.

“You must learn archery, because archery is among your best games.” (HR. Bazzar and Thabrani)

Rasulullah SAW also said: “Hurl your arrows, I am with you .” (HR. Bukhari)

In the same manner as the Sahabiyyah during the time of Nubuwwah, Nasibah binti Kaab who was known as Ummu Imarah. She also took part in battles. She related, “In the battle of Uhud, while carrying water, I came out a bit noon and saw the Mujahideens, until I found Rasulullah SAW. Meanwhile, I saw the forces of the Muslims turning topsy-turvy. So I approached Rasulullah while joining in the fight, shielding him with my sword and shooting with my arrows at times. I was wounded, but when Rasulullah SAW was cornered and Ibnu Qamiah was about to kill him, I shielded him along with Mus’ab bin Umair. I tried to strike Ibnu Qamiah with my sword, but he was wearing iron protectors and he managed to strike me on the shoulder till I got wounded”. Rasulullah SAW later commented, “Every time I looked at my left and right, I found Ummu Imarah shielding me in the battle of Uhud.” Ummu Imarah was so tough.

May the Muslimahs in this time of khalaf be able to become like Umm Imarah RA. Aamiin Yaa MuujibasSaailin.

You Could Also Be Entitled For Paradise!

. Once upon time, there was this woman who confessed to have sinned. Since then she no longer wanted to pray and utter zikr. Because to her, she was already a dirty woman. No longer eligible to get the love of Allah. To the extent that she did not want to pray any more. The more she broke the commandments of Allah the more she dared toward Allah. She no longer wanted to hope for paradise. Naudzubillah min dzalik...

Have you ever had a friend like this? There may be many who have such life experiences. Despairing from the mercy and forgiveness of Allah, until their dark lives become increasingly darker.

Rasulullah SAW said: "None from amongst you, except that his/her place had been predetermined by Allah to be either in heaven or hell." So a Sahabah asked, “O Rasulullah SAW! Then, isn't it better to be just motionless, waiting for the twist of the taqdeer of our fates, without doing good deeds?” Hearing this statement Rasulullah SAW then straightened it out; "People have been determined to be happy by Allah because they are practising the practices of a happy people, and people have been ordained by Allah to be damned because they are practising the practices of a damned people."

Therefore, practice good deeds! All the mediums have been provided. As for the happy people, it had been made easy for them to practise the practices of the happy people. And as for the damned people, it had been made easy for them to practise the practices of the happy people. Then Rasulullah SAW recited the verse: “As for those who give (their properties in the cause of Allah) and are God-fearing, and believe the existence of the best reward (paradise). Then we will prepare for them an easy path. And as for those who are miserly, and feel themselves enough, as well as denying the best reward. Then later we will prepare for them a difficult path.” (QS. 92:5-10)” H.R.Muslim.

My Brothers, heaven is surely enveloped with all things boring and uncomfortable. While, hell is decorated with ease and pleasantness . Whereas, on other occasions Rasulullah SAW also likeed to give motivations to his Sahabahs to do good deeds. In fact, even many of them were guaranteed paradise.

My Brothers, I am sure you will not stand idly, resignedly, acceptingly and walk willingly on this earth like water flowing just like that. Without purpose, without vision and without determination. Remember when the Messenger of Allah said in the presence of the Companions. At that time the sun was still in the east of Madinah. There were Abu Jam’ah, Abu Ubaidah, and a number of other Sahabahs. While the one who asked the question was one of the Sahabahs who was guaranteed paradise. He was Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarroh; “O Rasulullah SAW is there a better people than we are, whereas we have converted to Islam with you and we have conducted jihad with you?” So what did he answer; “There is, they are the people who live long after you, they believe in me even though they had never seen me”. Imam Al-Hakim had been preserving this hadith.

And the ulama's agreed to its truth. The above hadith does not cancel the primacy of the earlier Sahabahs and Salafusolih. They are the generation of the best ummah, “khoirul qurun”. It's just that our precedence today, compared to the Sahabahs, is that we have never met Prophet Muhammad. But we believe in his prophethood. Whereas, the Sahabahs believed in his prophethood while they were personally seeing the Prophet, seeing his Mu’jizat (miracles).

Those Stars!

Among the ten companions of the Prophet whom had been promised paradise, was a man from a noble clan, respected and revered. Esteemed in the midst of the tribe of Quraysh because of his wiseness. A young man whom first declare 'I believe in you O messenger of Allah'. A young man who was willing to become the protector when the people wanted to chop off the neck of the Prophet. They both ran and took refuge in a cave. His leg was stung by a venomous animal as he used it to cover a snake pit. So that the Prophet was safe. His tears was flowing out profusely as he could not resist the pain. For the fear that the people would find the Prophet and finish him off. A young man who would become the shield of the Prophet in the battle of Badr. His body was pierced by the spears, sliced by the swords. But his love for the Prophet made him smile. That he obtained an honorable position with Prophet. “If I could take a beloved, I will make you as my beloved.” So Allah's Apostle said to his Sahabah, Abu Bakar As-Siddiq.

Among them was a former wrestler in the market of 'Ukaz. A busy market and most visited by the people of Makkah and its surroundings. No one could match his strength. His astuteness in attacking the enemies, made the people fear him. His body was towering tall, taller than an average human being. In the records of Islamic history, Rasulullah SAW had never specifically made do'a, begging, so that Allah opened the heart of one of those kafirs at that time, except the do'a that he specifically addressed to Umar bin Khattab and Amru Bin Hisam. “O Allah glorify the Islamic religion with the entry into Islam of Amru Bin Hisam or Umar Bin Khattab.” So Allah's Apostle prayed. Then, Allah SWT opened the heart of Umar bin Khattab. He converted to Islam at the hands of the Prophet after the Qur'anic verses of surah Tahaa came into his ears.

Umar's Islam changed the way of the Islamic da'wah. To the point that Islam spread over the city of Makkah. His Islam made the enemies of Islam frown, maddened. His Islam made the devils flee, like asses running out of fear.

Among them was Sa’adz bin Mu’adz. When martyrdom greeted him, the ‘dwellers of heaven’ were troubled, heaven was in an uproar.

There was Abdurahman bin Auf, a millionaire who was very generous. His face was like the morning sun. Soothing the souls of the Muslims who at that time were weak. The wealth for him was just like leaves. But the glory of Islam to him is the ruh. No less than 40,000 silver dirhams, 40,000 gold dirhams, 500 war horses and 1,500 camels were contributed by him for the struggle of upholding Islam.

Ubaidah bin al-Jaroh. A Sahabah who was given the title “aminu hadihil ummah” the trustworthy person among the ummah. His speech was in harmony with his heart. Keeping secrets. And could be trusted. Rasulullah SAW had given statement about Abu ‘Ubaidah. “Verily, every ummah has a trusted person, and verily the trusted person of this ummah is Abu Ubaidah,”

There was Utsman bin Affan, the owner of the two lights. Because he was married with two daughters of the Prophets, Ruqayyah and Ummu Kultsum (marrying Ummu Kultsum after the death of Ruqayyah). He was a wealthy merchant, philanthropist and handyman. A Sahabah who held out his hands when the battle of Tabuk was raging. Parts if his wealth which he gave for the sake of jihad at the time included 940 camels and 60 horses. So paradise is appropriate for him.

There was also Ali bin Abi Thalib, husband of the beloved daughter of the Prophet, Fatimah Az-Zahra. He was the first who converted to Islam from among the children. He was only 10 years old at that time. Ali was known as a handsome, brave, clever and a war tactician expert.

There was Thalhah bin Ubaidillah, a Sahabah who was known as Rasulullah SAW's consultant. When the battle of Uhud was raging, in a very precarious situation, news about Rasulullah being killed was spreading. The Muslims were weakened. Yet, it was a different story with Thalhah, he remained strong, he immediately seeked the Prophet. Though his whole body was covered in blood. When he found that the Prophet was still alive, he made himself a shield for Rasulullah SAW and deflected the arrow that would have pierced the Prophet with his hand until all his fingers were cut off.

Sa’ad bin Abi Waqqas, a youth who embraced Islam at the age of 17, he was very skilled in riding and archery. He had charming and piercing eyes. If he were to shoot at the enemies with his arrows, it would surely be right on target. The moments he first converted to Islam, his mother threatened him with a hunger strike, with a hope that Sa’ad would return to the teachings of his ancestors. However, though the mother had almost died, he ignored the threat. He did not sell his conviction for anything, even his mother's life. What he did was to remain devoted to his mother.

And many of them were successful, achieving a high position with the Prophet. Let's follow them. Let us imitate them. Those who have gone. The chosen generation, the best generation. Rasulullah SAW said : “My Companions are like the stars; whoever among them you use for guidance, you will be rightly guided.”

Sheikh Anwar Al-Awlaki Message to the American people

A Must Read

All praise is due to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, Muhammad, his family and his Companions.

Peace be upon those who follow the Guidance.

To the American people I say:

Do you remember the good old days, when Americans were enjoying the blessings of security and peace, when the word 'terrorism' was rarely invoked, and when you were oblivious to any threats?

I remember a time when you could purchase an airline ticket from the classified section of your local or college newspaper and use it, even though it was issued to a different name, because no one would bother asking you for an ID before boarding a plane. No long lines, no elaborate searches, no body scans, no sniffing dogs, no taking off your shoes and emptying your pockets.

You were a nation at ease.

But America thought that it could threaten the lives of others, kill and invade, occupy and plunder, and conspire without bearing the consequences of its actions. 9/11 was the answer of the millions of people who suffer from American aggression, and since then, America has not been safe.

And nine years after 9/11, nine years of spending, and nine years of beefing up security, you are still unsafe, even in the holiest and most sacred of days to you, Christmas Day. So do you expect to transgress against others and yet be spared retribution?

Your decision-makers, the politicians, the lobbyists and the major corporations are the ones gaining from your foreign policy, and you are the ones paying the price for it.

Following 9/11, the American people gave George W. Bush unanimous backing to fight against the Mujahideen, and gave him a blank check to spend as much as needed to fulfill that objective. The result: he failed. And he failed miserably.

So if America failed to defeat the Mujahideen when it gave its President unlimited support, how can it win with Obama, who's on a short leash? If America failed to win when it was at its pinnacle of economic strength, how can it win today, with a recession at hand?

The simple answer is: America cannot, and will not, win. The tables have turned, and there's no rolling back of the world-wide Jihad movement. On the eve of 9/11 it was Afghanistan alone. Today it is Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Somalia, North Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, and the list is growing.

How many more body-bags are American families willing to receive?

How much more can the US Treasury handle?

9/11, the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and then operations, such as that of our brother Omar al-Farouq which could have not cost more than a few thousand dollars, end up draining the US Treasury billions of dollars, in order to give Americans a false sense of security.

For how long can the US survive this war of attrition?

What benefit is it to the American people to suffer for the sake of supporting Israel, and what benefit is it to the American people to suffer for the sake of the Al-Saud family, and the Gulf monarchs?

Our brother Omar Farouq has succeeded in breaking through the security systems that have cost the US government alone over $40 billion since 9/11.

Obama has promised that his administration will be one of transparency, but he has not fulfilled his promise. His administration tried to portray the operation of brother Nidal Hassan as an individual act of violence from

an estranged individual. The administration practiced the control on the leak of information concerning the operation in order to cushion the reaction of the American public. Until this moment, the administration is refusing to release the emails exchanged between myself and Nidal.

And after the operation of our brother Omar Farouq, the initial comments coming from the administration were looking the same: another attempt at covering up the truth. But Al-Qaida cut off Obama from deceiving the world again; by issuing their statement claiming responsibility for the operation.

However, we are transparent and open in proclaiming our message to the world. Our objective is to bring back Islam to life, we seek to remove the tyrannical and parasitical rulers of the Muslim world, and replace them with men of God who know the difference between right and wrong, good and evil.

We seek to apply the rule of Quran, and make the Word of Allah supreme over all other, and God willing, we will strive to achieve these goals with all what we possess, and we will fight to the last man against whoever stands in our way.

We the Muslims do not have an inherent animosity towards any racial group or ethnicity.

We are not against Americans for just being American. We are against evil, and America as a whole has turned into a nation of evil. What we see from America is the invasion of two Muslim countries, we see Abu Ghuraib, Bagram and Guantanamo Bay. We see cruise missiles and cluster bombs, and we have just seen in Yemen the death of twenty-three children and seventeen women.

We cannot stand idly in the face of such aggression, and we will fight back and incite others to do the same.

I for one, was born in the US, I lived in the US for twenty-one years. America was my home. I was a preacher of Islam, involved in non-violent Islamic activism. However, with the American invasion of Iraq, and continued US aggression against Muslims, I could not reconcile between living in the US and being a Muslim, and I eventually came to the conclusion that Jihad against America is binding upon myself, just as it is binding on every other able Muslim.

Nidal Hassan was not recruited by Al-Qaida. Nidal Hassan was recruited by American crimes, and this is what America refuses to admit. America refuses to admit that its foreign policies are the reason behind a man like Nidal Hassan, born and raised in the US, turning his guns against American soldiers. And the more crimes that America commits, the more Mujahideen will be recruited to fight against it.

The operation of our brother Omar Farouq was in retaliation to American cruise missiles and cluster bombs that killed women and children in Yemen.

It is true that we are facing the arsenal of the greatest army on earth with our simple, modest means, but victory is on our side. Victory is on our side because there is a difference between us and you: we are fighting for a noble cause.

We are fighting for God, and you are fighting for worldly gain.

We are fighting for justice, because we are defending ourselves and our families, and you are fighting for imperialistic goals.

We are fighting for truth and justice, and you are fighting for oppression.

You have your B-52's, your Apaches, your Abrams and your cruise missiles, and we have small arms and simple improvised explosive devices. But we have men, who are dedicated and sincere, with hearts of lions, and “blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the world.”

Americans need to stop looking at themselves from their own lens, but look at themselves from the lens of the world. They will then see the ugly face of America. America is not despised only by Muslims, but by many millions of people around the world, and in America itself.

America may be obstinate in believing that the animosity of a few million Muslims wouldn't really harm them. They would say, "We have the most powerful army in the world, and we have the strongest economy in the world".

But don't you think that such a belief is a bit outdated?

Don't you think that such a belief was more suitable to the days of patriotism that swept over America following 9/11 than it is now, with the American army admitting its inability, and the American economy going through intensive care?

But imperial hubris is leading America to its fate: a war of attrition, a continuous hemorrhage that would end with the fall and splintering of the United States of America.

If George W. Bush is remembered as being the President who got America stuck in Afghanistan and Iraq, it's looking like Obama wants to be remembered as the President who got America stuck in Yemen. Obama has already started his war on Yemen, by the aerial bombings of Abyan and Shabwah. By doing that he has waged a publicity campaign for the Mujahideen in Yemen, and within days accomplished for them the work of years.

As the popularity of the Mujahideen in Yemen sky-rocketed, the popularity of Obama in America is plummeting. The corrupt Yemeni government officials and some of the tribal chiefs who claim to be your allies are having a ball these days.

The word being passed around among them is that this is the time to extort the gullible American. Your politicians, military and intelligence officers are being milked for millions.

The Yemeni government officials are giving you big promises and handing you big bills: welcome to the world of Yemeni politicians!

I would like to close my message to you with an invitation to Islam. We were all created by God on this earth to worship Him, and then after death it is either Paradise or Hell-fire for eternity. So the matter is not one to take lightly. It is your future. I invite you to read the Book of Allah, the Qur'an. You do not have to take anyone's word for it. Decide for yourself whether it is the Truth or not.

To the Muslims in America I have this to say: how can your conscience allow you to live in peaceful co-existence with the nation that is responsible for the tyranny and crimes committed against your own brothers and sisters? How can you have your loyalty to a government that is leading the war against Islam and Muslims?

The Muslim community in America has been witnessing a gradual erosion and decline in core Islamic principles, so today many of your scholars and Islamic organizations are openly approving of Muslims serving in the US Army to kill Muslims, joining the FBI, to spy against Muslims, and are standing between you and your duty of Jihad.

Slowly but surely your situation is becoming similar to that of the embattled Muslim community of Spain after the fall of Granada. Muslims of the West, take heed and learn from the lessons of history: there are ominous clouds gathering in your horizon. Yesterday America was a land of slavery, segregation, lynching and Ku Klux Klan. and tomorrow it will be a land of religious discrimination and concentration camps.

Don't be deceived by the promises of preserving your rights from a government that is right now killing your own brothers and sisters. Today, with the war between Muslims and the West escalating, you cannot count on the message of solidarity you may get from a civic group or a political party, or the word of support you hear from a kind neighbor or a nice co-worker. The West will eventually turn against its Muslim citizens!

In closing, I pray that Allah guides us to the Truth, and grants us steadfastness on the Straight Path, and may peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, his family, and Companions.

“Winds From Paradise” Jihad Novel Ogled By Foreign Intelligence

Still remember the Jihad Novel published by Ar Rahmah Media with the title “Winds From Paradise”? Apparently, this novel in the genre of jihad had been completely translated into English by the research institution of the American National Security Agency (NSA), called the Open Source Center (OSC). Not wanting to be left behind, the National Library of Australia had also been entering this novel, which contains four short stories, into their catalogue. What symptoms are these?

The War of Ideologies & Bad Image Projection of Islam

Their translating of this jihad novel, "Winds From Paradise", into the English language could be viewed from a number of angles. Countries like America, Australia and their allies, are very concerned with the word “jihad”. They should be alert with every word of “jihad”, not excluding one from a novel.

The word “jihad” which is in Islam according to the Shari'ah is one of the duties among other duties, and in their mindset it is a monster that they must observe and be aware of. They want to know more ahead of time and in detail everything about jihad, for them then to find a way of how to muffle the spirit of jihad or create a bad image of jihad, so that the Islamic ummah will hate it. This is the essence of the war of ideologies and bad image projection of Islam (demonology of Islam) that is continuously being waged by the enemies of Islam through their mass media.

On the other hand, with this jihad novel being translated into English (and if distributed) then there would be more opportunities for the non-Muslims to know in a correct way the haqeeqat (reality) of the Shari'ah of jihad and why the Islamic ummah must conduct jihad.

Only that, we know that the translation of this jihad novel into the English language by the NSA through the OSC, was not motivated by the desire to distribute it to the non-Muslim public, because this translation is limited in characteristic, and only for their own circles and strategic goals.

In the opening pages of this translated jihad novel by the OSC, it is mentioned that all the translation rights and the use of materials from the novel must be with the consent of the OSC. The irony is that the OSC itself did not ask for prior permission from Ar Rahmah Media as the publisher of the book.

Meanwhile, the National Library of Australia only files the “Winds From Paradise” jihad novel into their catalogue, which means that they are archiving a hard copy of the jihad novel which have could been bought by them or obtained from a source. Certainly, it is hoped that the Australian public could read the jihad novel so that they could explore more deeply the haqeeqat of jihad and why a Muslim is conducting jihad. Or it could be that the jihad book or novel is only for study materials used by the parties in Australia for the analysis of the strategies and developments of jihad.

Introducing Jihad Globally

There is no doubting that currently the ummah is in need of an explanation of the Shari'ah of jihad in a clear and unequivocal way. The creating of shubhahs (doubts) regarding jihad, the downsizing of the meaning of jihad, to the bad imaging of jihad; these are continued to be carried out by the enemies of Islam and their followers through every media. Meanwhile, there are still not many parties from amongst the ummah who are re-clarifying and re-purifying the meaning of jihad, as well as not knowing the effective way of doing it. Disseminating the meaning and motivation of jihad through a novel is one of the ways which is quite effective.

Ar Rahmah Media as the publisher of the “Winds From Paradise” jihad novel should be grateful with the translation of this novel in the genre of jihad. Besides being able to be more popular abroad, the domestic demands could also rise. It is not impossible that this jihad novel would be upgraded into a film in the genre of jihad, which is still rare in this country. In short, jihad is no longer becoming something which is feared, much less hated, but it becomes a pursuit that is compulsory to be accomplished. May it happen!

Can The Book, “Temanku, Teroris? (My Friend, A Terrorist?)”, Remove The Stigma Of Terrorism?

JAKARTA -Thursday, 16th July 2010, at the Gramedia Grand Indonesia, Jakarta, a book called "Temanku, Teroris?" (My Friend, A Terrorist?), was launched and reviewed. The event was guided by Tina Talisa, a presenter of TVOne, also presented was a former head of State Intelligence Agency (BIN) AM Hendropriyono, as the reviewer of the book. As delivered by the author, Noor Hudai Ismail, it was expected that this book would become a bridge and arena for "silaturrohim" for various parties who have different points of view. But, can this book erase the stigma of terrorism which is always directed at Islam and the Muslims?

Two Students Of Ngruki On Different Paths

The story in this 386-pages book revolves around the life journey of two santri (students) from Pondok Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) of Al Mukmin Ngruki, Central Java. The first santri is Noor Huda, who received a scholarship at Saint Andrews University Scotland and at one time became a journalist for the Washington Post. The second santri is a senior and at the same time a friend of Noor Huda, Fadlullah Hasan alias Mubarok who became the Mujahideen of Afganistan and was involved in the Bali Bombing I.

On page 2 Mobarok, alias Utomo Pamungkas, alias Fadlullah Hasan expressed his testimony:

"I am Utomo Pamungkas alias Fadlullah Hasan alias Mubarok alias Amin. A veteran of the Afghan war, an instructor in the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in Mindanao, Philippines, linked with the Batal bombing attack in 2000 in Mojokerto, also linked with the bombing attack on the house of the ambassador of Philippines in 2001, as well as the Bali Bombing I on 12th October 2002.

I was part of an underground movement organization the Jamaah Islamiyah. I am Insha Allah, upholding the Islamic principles of life. Jihad is the path of my struggle, to die shaheed is my goal. I am tied to the baiat 'baya'tuka 'ala al-sam'i wa al-tha'ah fi al-'usri wa al-yusri': 'to hear and obey in the state of ease or hardship, as well as obedient to the leader'.

Pesantren Al-Mukmin Ngruki was the womb that contained me. While Afghanistan was the midwife who helped with my birth; our birth, the children who would grow up as troops of fighters in the path of Allah.

I narrate the following stories as a testimony of our struggle. This testimony represents the journey of my jihad. May Allah SWT be pleased with the struggle of the Mujahideen in the fight against falsehood and in avoiding His prohibitions, solely for the glory of the Allah Taala."

Meanwhile, in his preface, Noor Huda explains his purpose of writing the book:

With good intentions, it is time for me to convey the objective of writing this book, which is no other than only to glorify Allah Ta'ala. Presumably Allah is pleased with the path I am going, from the beginning to the end. I dedicate this book to all the orphaned children around the world. The spirit of my writing in this book is dedicated to the orphaned children who were born out of the suicide bombs. May Allah always accompany and provide protection to them. I also hope that by reading this book the readers can understand that Pondok Pesantren Ngruki surely teaches jihad, but it does not mean terrorism; our pondok teaches to be critical, it doesn't mean being anarchists.

From here we are able to see that the author, Noor Huda, considers the steps and actions of jihad taken by his friend, Mubarok alias Fadlullah Hasan, as confused and misguided. Noor Huda, who is also active in the Yayasan Prasasti Perdamaian (Foundation of Peace Messages), the institution that focuses on putting back former prisoners of terrorism into the community, considers those errors as the main weakness of the students who fall into jihad and accept all the teachings without trying to criticize. Noor Huda said:

Whereas, in Al-Quran, there are commands to verify any news that we receive.

In the epilogue of the book, the author re-affirmed;

Hopefully there will be no more orphans who are born out of terror acts done in the name of certain beliefs. I am closing off the night with prayers for them. Hoefully they, the orphans who were born out of suicide bombs, either the real orphans or orphans in a social way, are not holding grudges in themselves and are spreading love in its place. Because they are the ones who would who will continue our dreams, the adult. Their world. Hopefully.

Who Are The Real Terrorists?

That question did pop out and was asked at the review of the book "Temanku, Teroris?"

Because, indeed the true meaning and definition of terrorism itself is still not clear and became a stigma used by the western countries, especially America, to be labeled on Islam and the Muslims.

Imam Samudra alias Abdul Aziz, the Bali Bombing I convict in his memoirs which was also made into a book by the Jazera publisher with the title "Aku Melawan Teroris" (I Am Fighting Terrorists), strongly implied that he is a Mujahid, not terrorist. In fact, he was the one who is fighting the 'terrorists' i.e. America and her allies!

Paridah Abas, wife of Sheikh Mukhlas alias Ali Ghufron also a convict of Bali Bombing I, wrote the story of her life which was also made into a book with the title "Orang Bilang Ayahku Teroris" (People Say My Father Is A Terrorist). It is possible that there will emerge in the near future similar books with the similar titles such as "Kakakku Bukan Teroris" (My Brother Is Not A Terrorist), "Saya Jurnalis Bukan Teroris" (I Am A Journalist Not Terrorist), and so on. The point is the rejection of the stigma of terrorism which all these while has been pinned on Islam and the Muslims.

So this is a matter of perspective about terrorism. Even if there is a term 'terrorism' in Islam, it is a praiseworthy terrorism (commanded) not deplorable terrorism (the forbidden by Allah SWT). In the question and answer session, QS Al Anfal verse 60 was presented as the legal basis of the Mujahideen for their actions.

If Noor Huda, the author of the book, had explained clearly about the obvious impacts of the acts of terrorism i.e. the emergence of orphaned children from the victims, as well as from the actors of terrorism, and said:

Who would want to care for these orphaned children?

Then, a similar question should also be asked to him and to all the human beings on this earth:

Who would want to care for the orphaned children in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestina, Chechnya, Kashmir, Somalia, Moro, Pattani, Ambon, Poso?

The fact is that, countries like America and its allies especially Israel, which today are creating and producing the most orphaned children from amongst the Muslimeen in Islamic countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestina, Chechnya, Kashmir, Somalia, Moro, Patanni, Ambon, Poso and others. How come, if it was them i.e. America and its allies, no one is saying that they are terrorists? How come nobody condemns them? This is surely unfair!

So, this is really all about the problem of different perceptions. The perceptions that are built upon a conviction of life which ultimately determine the difference in someone's life path, as in the book "Temanku, Teroris?" written by Noor Huda.

Mubarok, alias Fadlullah Hasan, alias Utomo Pamungkas, who originated from the Pondok Pesantren Ngruki, has chosen the path of his life and he is proud of it and ready to assume all the risks, in this world and the next.

Meanwhile from the same madrassa, in fact in the same room, Noor Huda Ismail has also chosen the path of his life and he is proud of it and ready to assume all the risks, in this world and the next.

Therefore, this works of Noor Huda in the form of a book "Temanku, Teroris?" is still unable or cannot erase the stigma of terrorism which was systematically created for the Muslims by America and its allies, as well as their pleasers!

The Origin of Paul and His Lies

Saul or better known as Paul, is a Jew from the descendant of Benjamin (one of the children of Prophet Shu’ayb AS) who had the ideology of the Greek philosophies. It was he who actually founded the Christian doctrine as we now know. He came from the town of Tarsus, Cilicia. From the historic literature, Paul's entrance into the circle of the Christians was in around the year 38 AD or 70 AD. At first he embraced the ideology of Farushin which was very against the teachings of Prophet Isa AS (Jesus). When Jesus was propagating his teachings of monotheism (tawheed), Paul was amongst the staunchest opponents.

Paul was a stooge of the Roman invaders for the Palestinian people. Paul actually did not recognize Jesus even though he's a contemporary of him and he (Paul) was hostile to him (Jesus). In fact, he had never met Jesus. He only knew about Jesus from his students who were known as Al-Hawariyyun whom at that time was also opposed by him.

When Jesus was no more alive, Paul received the task of arresting and eradicating the followers of Jesus who had escaped to Damascus. However, when he returned to Palestine, he did not return to the Roman government that had assigned him, instead he went to the place where the Christian adherents worshiped and showed himself as already having adopted Christianity.

When he was asked by the Christians, “Why do you come to this place, whereas you hate the teachings we are professing?” Thus, he had fabricated a story to answer and convince the Christians with such imagination, “When I was in Damascus at noon, I saw light emanating from the sky, I was trembling. Then came a voice from heaven 'O Saul (Paul) why do you persecute me? You are against my disciples, actually I'm the one you're persecuting!' and then I replied ‘Who are you?’ so I heard the words of God 'I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to avoid sin' I soon returned from Damascus with conscience and repentance, and straight away came here to be with you.” At first, thse Christians did not believe him. But due to Paul's skillfulness in terms of talking and mingling, finally many believed him.

Since then, Paul studied hard the teachings of Christianity until he truly understood it. He then became a preacher of Christianity. He came to a distant land to propagate it such as Antighia and other countries there which were untouched by the Jewish religion, and eventually he reached Rome.

Paul's Teachings

If we open the book of Galatians in the Bible, we would be able to find many lies written by Paul. The following quote of the Galatians 1:10-24 is fairly representative of Paul's false propositions:

So how now: Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. (10)

For I affirm to you, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ. (11-12)

For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. (13)

I was advancing in Judaism beyond many Jews of my own age and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. (14)

But when God, who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not consult any man, (15-16)

nor did I go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went immediately into Arabia and later returned to Damascus. (17)

Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Peter and stayed with him fifteen days. (18)

I saw none of the other apostles—only James, the Lord's brother. I assure you before God that what I am writing you is no lie. (19-20)

Later I went to Syria and Cilicia. But my face was unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. (21-22)

They only heard the report: "The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy." And they praised God because of me. (23-24)

From the biblical propositions written by Paul above, there are some basic facts about Paul's lies:

Paul claimed that his gospel was not from man, but comes from Jesus. (verse 12)

Which gospel was meant by Paul above? Why is there now no gospel written by Paul? If what he meant were the four canonical gospels, have not the canonical gospels themselves been written long after Jesus was gone by each of their writer? Paul's statements was totally baseless.

Paul claimed that he was God's chosen one since he was still in the womb. (verse 15)

The fact is that he was a great liar. Further than that, if he was God's chosen creation since in the womb, then why did he repent? So illogical!

He claimed to have received revelations from Jesus and taught it to non-Jewish nation. (verse 16)

As we all know, the Islamic teaching says that Jesus was only sent to Israel and continued the message of the apostles of the nation of Israel. And in the teachings of the canonical gospels – which is now held by the Christian faithfuls − it is also emphasized that Jesus's teachings was only for the lost sheeps or children of Israel. So how could a Paul who (he said) got the teachings of Jesus, taught it to the non-Jewish nation? If it was true, why did not Jesus himself taught his teachings to non-Jewish nation? His statement does not make sense!

Paul claimed that his face was not known among the Christians of Judea. (verse 22)

Judea was a place where Jesus taught his teachings. The place was inhabited by the Israeli people from the descendants of Judah (one of the sons of Prophet Shu’ayb AS). There are some impossibilities in the statement here: Firstly; How is it possible that the people of Israel, who supposedly received the teachings of Jesus, were not familiar with an emissary of Jesus? This only becomes possible if Paul had lied. Secondly; the people of Israel themselves did not acknowledge the truth in Jesus, in fact they even hunted down and crucified him. From here we can see the impossibility of Paul being accepted by them.

His influence up to now

The western world which at that time was represented by the power of the Roman empire and was centered in Rome, did not have even one prophet in its history. Because, the fact is that all of the prophets came from the east. That was why Paul spread his teachings to the people of Rome, they were pleased to welcome Paul and make him as the prophet of the people of the West.

The transformation of Paul into becoming a follower of Jesus became an important point that could not be separated in the history of Christianity. Paul's theological concepts had made this religion to be readily accepted by the people from all walks of life. Paul had made major changes in the doctrine of Jesus's teachings, that the Christian initial doctrine of Tawheed was changed to become inclined to shirk. Here was the role of Paul in shaping the faith of the Christians as we know it and in fact resulted in Christianity as being a creation of Paul, not Jesus Christ.

The concept made-up by Paul is the concept of the trinity or three gods which was adopted from the concept of the belief in the gods/goddesses which was in the pagan religion. The concept of the trinity is Jesus as the child God, Allah as the father God, while Mary as the mother God. This ideology was surely a powerful weapon for Paul to indoctrinate the pagan people so that they would move to his religion.

The changes in the concept of divinity by Paul had made the west with its Rome migrated in a large scale from the pagan religions into Christianity. Due to the pagans early religious ideology that embraced trinity, then they very easily accepted these teachings with similar ideology i.e. the Trinity. Next, Paul named the teachings that he brought as Catholica, which means "Religion for the public".

Based on the new collected data regarding the death of a well-known Iraqi chemical engineer, Mohammad Al-Azmirli, he was arrested by the US forces in 2003. He was one of the most famous chemists worldwide.

After the completion of the American investigation about “the Iraqi Chemistry case”, he was then handed over to the Zionist regime's espionage agency to be interrogated further.

According to the Iraqi news agency, this Iraqi chemist was tortured during interrogation and killed by a blow to the head. His corpse was then transferred to the Abu Ghraib Prison in an attempt to hide the details of murder.

Putri Munawaroh Sobbed, Remembering Beloved Husband

Jakarta - Which wife was not sad when looking back at the love and beautiful life with her beloved husband? Especially that the husband had already left her forever now. That's what happened to Putri Munawaroh, the wife of shaheed (Insha Allah) Susilo Adib, who was shot by the Densus 88, on 17th September 2009, in Jebres, Solo.

The Cries While Reading The Statement of Defence

That day, Tuesday, 6th July 2010, in the main courtroom of the PN (district court) of South Jakarta, Putri Munawaroh herself read the statement of defence against the tyrannical demands of the prosecutors who adjudicated her to 8 years imprisonment. The prosecution team after several trial stated that she was guilty due to assisting and participating in terrorism offences by providing facilities to the perpetrators of terrorism. Putri was wickedly snared by the Article 13 Letter B Perpu (gvt. regulation to replace law number... ) 1 Year 2002 that have been enacted into Law No. 75 Year 2003 Article 55 verses 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.

Putri Munawaroh did not feel the least bit that she had committed the offences as sought by prosecutors above, because she was only acting as an obedient and dutiful wife to her husband. That was what had been delivered in the reading out of the statement of defence in the district court of South Jakarta, at 15.00 hour local time.

Wearing a jilbab and veil, Putri Munawaroh read out her rights which had been tyrannized. Putri was unable to banish the sadness while remembering her beloved husband who had been defending her to his last breath. Putri was occasionally heard sobbing as she was unable to restrain her grief. Putri remembered her husband, Susilo Adib. Puteri explained that she and her husband was a married couple who were living life based on the Islamic values.

“We lived in ordinariness. My husband was teaching at the Pondok (Islamic boarding school -ed) of Al Kahfi. I myself was an ordinary house wife. But, our lives were full of happiness and even more so when I was declared pregnant with our first baby,” Putri Munawaroh said in a sob.

Reception Of Putri's Guests

In April 2009, Putri Munawaroh and Susilo Adib rented a house in Sari Village RT 03/11 Mojosongo, Jebres, Solo, owned by Sri Indrasari for a period of one year, for a price of 1.4 millions Rupiahs. Then gradually they started to receive guests, whom Putri did not know herself who those guests were. Putri only knew those guests as ustadzs and she had no prejudice on them at all.

As a Muslim, Putri felt obliged to receive visitors, serve and entertain them. Because in Islam, honouring the guests is a main obligation. Putri did not expect that those of her guests were the wanted people by the Indonesian police, who were being sought for the bombing incidents in Hotels JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton in Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, last year.

Putri Munawaroh and her husband provided a place to stay and provided food for them. It was done after the bombings at the two hotels had taken place. Putri Munawaroh and her husband were accused of not reporting to the local RT (neighbourhood association) concerning the presence of guests who were staying for 2.5 months at their home. She was also accused of always locking the house each time she was leaving the house so that people did not know about the presence of those three fugitives.

Putri Munawaroh denied all those allegations. In her statement of defence, Putri Munawaroh mentioned that her action of locking the house when she wanted to go out was not intended to hide the guests, but so that their properties could be protected from bad people.

In the end, Putri Munawaroh was arrested in the raid on 17th September 2009 in Sari Village RT 03/11 Mojosongo, Jebres, Solo. Alhamdulillah, Puteri Munawaroh was safe as she was protected by her husband, who heroically shielded here from harm, despite being shot he was still protecting his beloved wife and unborn baby. In the end, Putri Munawaroh was the only suspect who survived and became a living witness to the very dramatic incident. When Putri was shot, she was three-months pregnant with the unborn baby, who has now born healthily and named Ahsan.

In the closing of her statement of defence, Putri Munawaroh requested from the panel of judges for a hope as follows :

“I hope that in deciding this case, it contains the values of truth, honesty and justice, as well as upholding the moral values towards Allah,” she said.

Stop The Torture On The Accused of ''Terrorism'' Right Now!

The accused of terrorism, Muhammad Jibriel, admitted that he had always been tortured during his detention by the police. The torture only ended when he was moved to the Brimob Detention Centre, Kelapa Dua, Depok. "From the day I was arrested, until the fourth days after that, I was continously tortured," Jibriel said in front of the judges in the trial, where he revealed the kinds of torture done on him which include being beaten with rattan canes, having his face punched and having his beard plucked. Besides that, Jibriel also admitted to have been forced to take off his cloths for him to be photographed by them. Crazy!

Torture has become a part of the techniques to probe informations from the accused of terrorism. It has become common knowledge. At least this technique was copied from their elder i.e. America, when they want to dig up information from the Mujahideen. One more atrocity that had been hidden by America was exposed. After the torture in Abu Ghuraib and the abuse in Guantanamo, now the existence of tortures by the American secret agents, the CIA, in secret prisons was exposed. A number of those secret prisons are located in Eastern Europe, Afghanistan, Thailand, on carrier vessels that are spread in several offshores, as well as some other places.

One of those who was detained and tortured was apparently a German citizen of a Lebanese descendant named Khalid Al Masri. This guy, who in his everyday life worked as a car salesman, was kidnapped by the CIA in December 2003 while on vacation in Macedonia. After being arrested, Khalid was straight away flown to Afghanistan to be interrogated. For five months in the secret prison, he faced various tortures. In May 2004, he was transferred to Albania. After being tortured, he was then freed just like that. This had made the German public reacted strongly. Days later it was discovered that the CIA had arrested a wrong person!

Beside Khalid, the tragic fate was also experienced by an Italian scholar, Hassan Mustafa Usamah Nasr. This man who seeked asylum from Egypt was arrested in the street in Milan without a clear legal basis. The CIA then notified the anti-terror forces of Italy that Nasr had been flown to the Balkan. Italy later learned that Nasr had been taken to Egypt to be tortured and interrogated.

The same tragic case also happened to Wahab Al Rami, a British businessman. He was arrested in Gambia in November 2002. Whereas, a few days earlier, a Palestinian asylum seeker had been declared free of terrorism charges by the British court. Al Rami was then taken to Guantanamo without a clear legal basis. He finally was freed of course. This also received a lot of criticism. Milton Bearden, the man who have had a career with the CIA for 30 years was amongst those who is highly critical of how the CIA interrogate prisoners through tortures. ''Torture is a way that will bring harm to your (CIA's) self,'' he said.

The pattern of a torture is considered to be an effective way of opening the mouth of the captives. Concern no longer exists, whether this would violate the Human Rights or not. It is already proven that the Human Rights and its strugglers will only care about the party that is in their favour. As if the defendants have no right to be defended and there is no need of providing defence for them. So, there appears in our minds a question, why must torture be done to the accused of terrorism, and not to the accused of corruption and pornography, where there is an excess of them? Why didn't they get the same treatment? Instead, they get a special and privileged place in the prison. An unfair treatment indeed!

It is time for legal activists to want to care about this. To prevent and stop tortures that have been done under any argumentation because everyone has equal rights before the law. So there should be no thuggery in the name of the law which whacks the innocent people.

May Allah avenge the tyranny of His creatures with just penalties and help the Mujahideen in the battlefield or those who are tyrannized by the authorities.

While there, far in the land of Palestine, as well as in the distant City of Gaza.... there, my little sisters are crying, my mother is wailing, my father is fighting off the pain, and my brothers are sorrowful. They are the ones who deserve to complain about their conditions. They are the ones who ought to feel cramped because of the damage to the wheels of life. They are the ones who deserve to be sad, to moan and cry.

Not us….. It is not us who deserve to complain to God, it is not us who deserve to feel cramped with our situations, it is not us who deserve to be sad, to moan and cry on our conditions. And it is not us who ought to feel stressed for the wickedness of the dunya.

Indeed…. By Allah…. We are the youths who have the mentality of a goat which always complain about how bad things are. We are the youths with a primitive thinking who don't know how to be thankful. We are the worst of slaves who are never grateful to their Master, Who is the Most Kind. Indeed, we are the youths who are really immoral, who always wish to be the son of a king in order to obtain happiness.

Yet…… how staunch the iron shields that are in their breasts are. With their anti-Israel slogans that they always chant and the martyrdom that are in their hearts... death in their eyes is a beauty. And they need us to live like a human being.

Then why? Why are we silent? Is there no more humanitarian instinct in our hearts? Are we going to keep on minding our own businesses which are trivial? Are we not angry enough when seeing our brothers and sisters being slaughtered, humiliated, abused and boycotted?

Enough!!!…. we have enough of living a life of no value. Raise the value of our lives by rekindling the humanitarian instincts. Revive the spirit of jihad that, all these while, had been buried. What can we do????????????

9 Killed, Habibie Already Knew

detik.com - Jakarta, President B. J. Habibie has learned of the shooting incident where the jama'ah in a congregational Subuh prayer were shot in Ambon on Monday (1/3/1999). This was disclosed by the minister of religious affairs, Malik Fadjar at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday afternoon (1/3/1999) during a reception with Habibie. Malik admitted that he had already known about the incident since morning. "I got the information from the Department of Religious Affairs head of regional office in Maluku, Drs Hasyim Marabessy, SH, at around 05:30 hour through the telephone," Malik said. According to Malik the incident was clearly a violation of the human rights.

Meanwhile, the ministress in the women's roles who was also the chairman of the Badan Kontak Majelis Taklim (BKMT) or Contact Agency of Taklim Assemblage, Tutty Alawiyah felt concerned and was shocked by these events. Tutty hoped that the government and authorities could immediately trace the perpetrators of the shooting. "If not, this may cause unrest in the society," Tutty said. This shooting incident occurred in the early morning i.e. at around 05:00 hour. At that time, around 100 jama'ah had just finished performing the ibaadah of solat Subuh in Masjid Al-Huda. This masjid is located in the Auhura district, around 10 kilometres east of downtown Ambon. When the jama'ah were about to leave the masjid, suddenly a number of local policemen, without clear reasons, fired at them. Obviously, the victims fell dead. Whether the gang who shot them were real police or otherwise, God knows?

How many were dead? Still mazy. But the detik.com source mentioned that at least 9 people were killed. Whereas, the injured could reach dozens of people.

The police were apparently not only attacking the jama'ah who had just finished performing the Subuh prayer, but they also blindly attacked the houses of the villagers in the vicinity of the masjid. This assault led by a number of officers of course brought on fear amongst the residents. The feeling of fear gripped throughout the entire residents in Ambon.

As is known, the people of Ambon continued to be confronted with clashes between the citizens, especially clashes that were related to issues of religion. No wonder that until 20.30 hour, the atmosphere around the city of Ambon was still tense, deserted and deathly.

Until this news was reported, the detik.com still have not managed to get confirmation from the police. To date, both the District Police of Maluku and the Police Main Headquarters had not provided any official information. However, the sources of the detik.com in the District Police of Maluku stated that those who perpetrated the shooting had already been arrested.

To be noted, prolonged unrest in this "spice island" had caused a mass exodus. On Sunday (28/2/1999) more than 1300 people thronged the ships that were leaving Ambon. The riots that began on the 'Eid day i.e. on 19th January 1999, so far had killed 200 people.

20,000 Laskar Sabilillah ready for Ambon

JAKARTA (Pos Kota) – As many as 20,000 members of the Laskar Sabilillah and members of Furqon are ready to be deployed to Ambon. Before departing for Ambon they would be organizing a mass gathering at the compound of Masjid Istiqlal, Jakarta. In the opportunity, they would also perform demonstration of martial art skills, as a provision for Jihad.

The Secretary General of Furqon Drs. H. Nadjamuddin Ramly who was accompanied by the Treasurer, Drs. H. KA. Herry A. Aziz, in his office at Masjid Istiqlal explained that the gathering would be taking place on 18th March. In the event, the skills of those who had undergone training would be tested.

The main objective of the gathering according to Nadjamuddin was to raise awareness and preparedness in the Islamic ummah, and to respond to all the challenges ahead. Besides that, the majority of the Islamic ummah are proportionately responsible for the future of the nation. The youths who are unifying under the Laskar Sabilillah are mostly made up of members of various “Pencak Silat” martial arts groups such as Tapak Suci, Pagar Nusa, and other martial art institutions.

AM Zainal Abidin: Only Waiting For Command

AM Zainal Abidin, as the Commander of the Laskar declared himself ready to depart. "We are just waiting for the command now, and I am ready to be dispatched. This is no joke!" he affirmed.

The Secretary General of Central MUI (Majelis Ulama' of Indonesia), Drs. H. Nazri Adlani stated that he personally felt the pain hearing about the massacres of the Islamic ummah in Ambon. "But we as board members of the MUI can not simply act directly. Our task is to lobby the government in the higher level," he said when receiving the jama'ah Muslimeen (Hizbullah) which jointly condemned the massacre of the Muslims in Ambon.

According to Nazri, the Muslims in Ambon did not just stand still, they have reacted in defending themselves, they have established command posts for security and rescue.

Nazri confirmed the incident of the shootings on Muslims who were praying in a masjid in Ambon. In fact, Nazri even added that the Imam of the masjid there, named Husein Umar, had been shot twice by those unscrupulous security forces, but he was impenetrable by the bullets, in fact he even held two bullets and returned them to the unscrupulous security forces. The perpetrators of those terror were right away frightened and ran away.

Government To Remove The Statement

Meanwhile, the Imam of Masjid Al-Fatah, Ambon, H. Abdul Aziz Arbi, MA, demanded that the government should remove their statement which said that the riots in Ambon and its surrounding areas was a war against poverty and was caused by a handful of radical and controversial Islamic and Christian groups.

"We demand that the statement of the government is removed, the statement is not true," Abdul Aziz, MA said in a press conference in Masjid Al-Azhar, Jakarta, yesterday. The Indonesian Committee for solidarity with the Islamic world (KISDI) also stated that the false statement of the government must be revoked. Sumargono from KISDI questioned the popularization of the terms “extreme” and “radical” Islam by the regime of Habibie which before had been polularized by Sudomo dan LB. Moerdani (Armed Forces chiefs - ed). Because, by popularizing those terminologies it would not solve the problems but only add new problems.

This is a real event in the arena of jihad. A Laskar Jihad of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah who was seconded to the community of Iha personally witnessed the brutality of the Christian rebels. This documentation is a proof of the malignancy of the Christian villagers residing around the Muslim village, Iha.

Friday, 22nd September 2000

At that time, the watch showed that it was 11:00 o'clock in the morning, local time. Through the fishing port of Tulehu, I departed heading for Iha Village, Saparua Island. Iha Village was one of the three Muslim villages in Saparua Island. It was not that big. Only twice the size of a football pitch, thus was approximately how big it was.

Such a small village was inhabited by 700 people. I went with a group comprising of a team of Laskar (soldiers) Jihad of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama'ah, seven natives of Iha who domiciled in Ambon and some people of Kailolo who originated from Haruku Island.

On our departure, I and my entourage had been delayed for a while. That was due to the fact that the fishing port of Tulehu was strictly guarded by the security apparatuses. So tight was the security that I and some people in the entourage had become really tense. The strictness of the security was related to several incidents that happened the day before in the area of Siri Sori (Muslims'), Seram Island, where there were tensions between the Muslim and Christian communities. Whereas, the fishing port of Tulehu was a port in Ambon Island which was normally used for hopping to other islands in the northern part of Ambon Island.

Tension was increasing rapidly when the speedboat we were traveling in was about to pass by another speedboat coming from the front. We thought the speedboat was owned by the obets (reference to Christians in the Maluku). After drawing nearer, it turned out that the speedboat belonged to the Muslims. The tension then subsided, the speedboat that was suspected as belonging to the obets was apparently transporting victims of war.

Several hundred meters before hitting the shore of Iha Village, Saparua Island, clouds of billowing smoke could be seen. An indication of how the animosity of the Christian terrorists had reached its peak. They had been carrying out the annihilation of the Muslim community. An onslaught was definitely underway.

We were then instructed by our commander so that we would be prepared for any possibility that might happen. "When you see the beach, you guys get ready," he commanded. It was then, when the tension mounted that suddenly the speedboat driver spoke to me, "Brother Laskar, give me some amulets." "We never wear amulets. We just put our trust (tawakkal) in Allah," I replied while trying to assure him.

Not long after that, our conversation stopped. The speedboat we were riding in was under heavy fire from the Christian mainland. Apparently, our arrival had been known by the Christian party. Bullets were scattered in our direction. The atmosphere was getting increasingly tense. The speedboat got shot at last. Bullets were piercing the walls of the speedboat and straight away hit the jerry can containing petrol. The flammable liquid flowed and spread.

Despite being greeted by a whirring sound of guns, alhamdulillah, we finally managed to get close to the shore. The tide at that time was low, so we could not directly enter Iha Village. We had to anchor our speedboats further away in the ocean and closer to the Christian village of Ihamahu. Quickly, the team rushed out of the speedboat.

Apparently, the attacks were getting more frequent, in fact they came from two directions. From the south of Iha Village i.e from the Christian village of Noloth, we were being fired at with organic rifles. And from the north i.e. the Christian village of Ihamahu, evidently their raids were much more powerful from here. This obet's village was directly adjacent to the Muslim village of Iha.

Before all the passengers could get off, the driver of the speedboat got his right thigh hit by a bullet, while one of his crews was shot on the shoulder. Two men from the Laskar Jihad of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah also became victims of the RMS (South Moluccan Republic ) Christian's brutality. Both were shot on the palm of the hand. The sporadic attacks made some of us jump into the sea.

We were forced to get close to the mainland by swimming. When we reached the mainland we tried to enter Iha Village by creeping. Some were running as hard as they could. Not all the logistics and equipments that we had brought from Ambon could be brought to shore. Some had to be left in the speedboat. The atmosphere at that time was so tense.

Along with the fell of victims on our side, we went through the landings in Iha Village. No wonder when later the community of Iha Village greeted our arrival in a hysterical manner. Feeling of tense, anxious but happy (because of the arrival of jihad warriors) intermixed inside the breasts of the community of Iha Village. The beautiful pleasure of conducting ukhuwah (Islamic brotherhood) was really felt at that time, at such a critical condition and moment, when ones are shoulder to shoulder in helping each other to fight and defend the honor of religion against the savagery of the RMS Christians.

Not long after that, we could take a short break. Our fatigue then began to disappear little. Though we had not yet entirely recovered, we must immediately accomplish our next task. That same night we, along with the community of Iha were on guard in various corners of the village's borders. The breeze from the sea was blowing, teasing the night that wore on. The pounding of the successive waves followed. Stillness crept to every corner of the village that night. Yet occasionally, the barking sound of guns could be heard from the direction of the borders. We spent that night with great anticipation and expectation, anticipating all possibilities that might happen.

Saturday, 23rd September 2000

The Christian parties unleashed a dawn attack. From the southeast of the village, the direction closest to the border of Iha Village, they carried out an onslaught. The same goes with the direction from the north of the village. They kept on shooting at the Muslim community. Nevertheless, they did not dare to approach. Momentarily, they halted their fire after several gunshots from the direction of TNI AL (Indonesian Navy Forces) ship were launched which was precisely in front of Iha Village.

It was in such a critical situation that we consulted with the community of Iha Village, to decide whether we should withdraw or remain to defend the village. This was done remembering the disproportion in the manpower and strength. However, the result of the consultation stipulated that the village should be defended.

Until 14:00 hour, the atmosphere was still relatively calm. There was no attack. After 14:00 hour, the RMS Christians moved to launch attacks. This time the attack was carried out very intensively and ferociously. Clouds of smoke from Iha Village started to envelop the surroundings of the village. The blazing flames kept on spreading until the Maghrib time, while the ammunitions used for fighting were decreasing with times.

At last, the enemies managed to break through the defense of the village. The sound of trumpets were heard coming from the north, it happened after 'Isha. Until midnight, the battle raged on. They even managed to blow up the mosque with bombs. Then, the community decided to get out of Iha Village. Some members of the Laskar Jihad of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah continued to fight.

When the people were flocking to leave Iha Village, the security forces did not escort or provide protection for the evacuation, in the end, some members of the Laskar Jihad had to do the escort and protection themselves. The strength for survival started to dwindle. After all the residents were successfully evacuated from Iha Village, we gradually withdrew.

However, the RMS Christian rioters still did not dare to cross the road that cuts through the village. On the coast, a portion of the population had been successfully loaded onto the Navy ship. Some others were still looking for relatives who were scattered and carried by the ocean currents. The cries of children were so heartbreaking. The waves were pounding on the Muslim population who were forced to leave their village.

In such conditions, awkwardness on the part of the TNI (National Armed Forces of Indonesia) was clearly visible. Amongst the awkwardness was the lack of security assistance to evict and stop the dawn attacks by the RMS Christians.

With pieces of wood, we went to sea. Trying to reach the Navy ship that was on standby at sea to accommodate the villagers from Iha Village. The members of the Laskar Jihad of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah, as they retreated toward the Navy ship, continued to monitor the rate of enemy movement. Only our heads were visible in the middle of sea. While our eyes were now staring at the village of the Muslims that we were forced to abandon. At that time, there was no other hope except for the help from Allah Ta'ala. We relied (tawakkal) on Him only.

After two hours soaking in the ocean, the Navy rubber boat came to pick us up. We all survived, except for one member of the Laskar Jihad squad who was forced to return to the mainland because there was a grandmother who was still left in the village. The tense atmosphere was increasingly threatening. The RMS Christian rioters' movement was getting more aggressive when they approached the village.

It was unfortunate that the attitude of the TNI AL and the combined battalions (Yon Gab) assigned to the area, did not do much to help. They were only silent like stones. No shot was fired at the direction of the rioters, resulting in the Muslim community being expelled from their hometown after trying to defend their honor like warriors. Hence, Iha Village fell.

The number of casualties on the Muslims' side was only 10 people, one of them was a member of the Brimob. Including two victims who were burned alive by the RMS Christians terrorists in the masjid where those two men were trapped earlier. Whereas, the number of Christian casualties, as intercepted through the handy talkie that we could monitor, was said to be 1300 people. The Christian camps set this combat incident in Iha Village as the days of mourning for one whole month.

We were then sailing on the TNI AL ship along with the villagers of Iha Village. The cynical attitudes and behaviors of the TNI AL apparatuses made the feelings of unsympathy buried in the heart. The confinement in the lavatory of the Navy ship was a form of uncivilized treatment by the apparatuses. It was indicated on the fall of Iha village.
