Jihad Vs Terrorism

Of late, the Indonesian society was again enthusiastic in debating the issue of terrorism. A few days ago, an Ustadz was seen being interviewed on one of the private TV stations in Indonesia, he was asked what could approximately inhibit and remove terrorism that currently is getting more visible in Indonesia. The Ustadz answered that only a fatwa from the ulama's could inhibit it. That is when the ulama's issue a fatwa to stop the acts of terrorism.

Since that moment, the private TV station was getting more intense in its endeavours to bring in ulama's, be it from overseas or local, to issue a fatwa regarding terrorism. Until it came to its peak when there appeared A Fatwa of the Ulama' that “Terrorism” = “Kufr”. This further caused many from amongst the Muslim community who later blurted out and said that the Qur'an has never discussed anything about the issues of terrorism.

Terrorism itself is an absorbed word that originates from the English language. Coming from the base word 'terror', where the verb is 'to terrorize' and the actor is known as 'a terrorist'.

In the contemporary Indonesian language, Terrorism could be meant as the use of violence or threats to reduce the spirit, to frighten and cause fear especially for political objectives. Whereas, Hafid Abbas, Director General of HR protections, Department of Justice, said that terrorism is the usage of strength or invalid violence in fighting the person or property in order to intimidate or pressure the government, civil society or the parts of them, to enforce the social and political objectives.

According to Webster’s New World College Dictionary (1996), terrorism is “the use of force or threats to demoralize, intimidate, and subjugate.” Terrorism is divided into two types of definition i.e. the definition of the terrorism act and the terrorism actor. Agreed by a majority of experts that any act that is classified as terrorism is an act which has the elements of: violence, political objectives, terror/intended audience.

Muh. Kurniawan BW S.Ag, SH, MH from the ISAC (Islamic Study and Action Center) wrote in an article that 'terrorism is the apex of violence'. A violence could be done without terror, but there is no terror without violence. Terrorism is not the same as intimidation or sabotage. The targets of intimidation and sabotage are generally direct, whereas in terrorism they are not.

Dr. Thahir Qadri argues, "Terrorism is terrorism and violence is violence. These acts has no place in the teachings of Islam and there is no justification for them."

About the fatwa on terrorism as such, a majority of the inventors of fatwa are not the ulama's who are in the midst of a jihad arena and not the ulama's who had condcuted jihad when their countries are attacked by the kafir. Meanwhile, Sheikh Utsaimin himself wrote in his Fatwa in Majmuatu Durus wa Fatawa al-Haram al-Makki juz 3 page 354-355, "The salafs (sahabah, tabiin, tabiit tabiin) always refused to issue fatwas because of the seriousness of this matter and the heaviness of the responsibility, as well as the feeling of fear for speaking under Allah's name without 'ilm (knowledge). Because a giver of fatwa (mufti) is conveying the information from Allah and clarifying His shari'ah. If one speaks under Allah's name without knowledge, then he could fall into a trap that leads to shirk."

Just refer to the verse of Allah SWT: “Say: the things that my Lord hath indeed forbidden are: shameful deeds, whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; assigning of partners to Allah, for which He hath given no authority; and saying things about Allah of which ye have no knowledge. ” (Qur'an al-A’raf : 33)

Therefore, how could those ulama's dare to give a fatwa that all actors of terrorism are evenly entitled to the title of KUFR, a title that includes the Mujahideen who are in the process of struggling for the rights of the Muslims in their countries, the moment their rights are under attack? Whereas, those ulama's i.e. the inventors of fatwa themselves had never tasted the sweetness of iman in performing jihad and being in the midst of a jihad arena.

And how could a fatwa like that inhibit the acts of the terrorists, from their acts of terrorizing; trembling the enemies of Allah and the enemies of Rasulullah when the rights of the Islamic Ummah in the form of a Khilafah ‘ala manhaj Nubuwwah are still not returned?

Is It True That There Is No Ayah In Al-Qur’an That Discusses It?

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala says in the Qur'an, surah Al Anfal ayah 60

وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَمِنْ رِبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ وَآخَرِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِمْ لا تَعْلَمُونَهُمُ اللَّهُ يَعْلَمُهُمْ وَمَا تُنْفِقُوا مِنْ شَيْءٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ يُوَفَّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ لا تُظْلَمُونَ (٦٠)

Yusuf Ali translated the ayah in English as follows :

“Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know,but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.”

The above verse is clearly a command from Allah; a call by Allah to every Muslim who still have iman in their hearts. And this specific call defeats all the definitions that had been invented by the experts in the above various dictionaries. The verb mentioned in the Qur'an Surah Al Anfal verse 60 is “turhibuun” (to strike terror), then when there are Muslims who practice this verse, they would carry the title “irhabiyyun” (the actors of terror – towards specific objects i.e. the enemies of Allah and they who are mentioned in this verse are; terrorists).

This command is clearly coming from Allah, so are all the actors of terrorism towards specific objects i.e. the enemies of Allah and they who are mentioned in this verse, in the right time, in the right way and compatible with shari’ah, simply be branded as terrorists who are qualified to the title “KUFR” as well?

Indeed, how true are the words of Allah in surah Az Zumar: 9

“قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذِينَ لا يَعْلَمُونَ إِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ أُولُو الألْبَاب”

"Say: 'Are those equal, those who know and those who do not know? It is those who are endued with understanding that receive admonition.'" (Qur'an 39:9)

The Congress Of The Homosexuals And The Sensitivity Of The Authority

Once again Indonesia is presented with a drama called the 'ILGA (International Lesbian, Gay Association ) Congress' which, Alhamdulillah, failed to be carried out in Surabaya. The congress that takes on the agenda of “equal rights for the marginalized people” which in essence is a request for acknowledgment from the society to give space to the lesbian, bisexual and gay people.

The choice of Indonesia for the celebration of these amoral people is not without a purpose or unintentional, Indonesia was chosen as a venue by them because, besides being a nation with the biggest number of Muslims it is also due to the fact that for the people of Indonesia, the lesbian, gay and the likes of them are still considered as contemptible and accursed.

This is not free from the scenario of the global secular people who want to make Indonesia detached from the religious values and the eastern traditions, they want Indonesia to become a free country without the moral rules and the most important, further from the values of religion.

This could be proven by the silent attitude of the government with regards to the program of the congress that was going to be carried out by these deviant people. Perhaps, if the Islamic ummah was silent without any reaction and rejection, the event of this congress would have run smoothly without any obstacle from the government.

This shows that the government has lost the feeling of sensitivity when dealing with the moral depravity that is happening in the society, but they are very reactive and emotional when dealing with the demands of the Muslims. It is very dangerous if this situation persists, the government on one side legalizes immorality and on the other side very repressive on things that reek of Islam.

If only because of Human Rights reasons, the doers of the deviated morals can roam freely in the society and spread their diseases, then why do the authorities arrest and kill the innocent people who are only accused as terrorists, an accusation which still could not be proven? Isn't this more in violation of the Human Rights which they themselves hum?

But the essence from all these problems is the weakness of the laws applied in Indonesia, the laws that could be toyed with anytime, depending on the authority or those who have the wealth to buy those laws. It is only the law of Islam that can solve all these chaos and the uncertainty in the future fate of Indonesia, because the law of Islam is not made to order for certain people and groups, but the rules that know the answers to all the problems that befall mankind.

Because, all these while we could see with our own eyes that the laws which are being applied in Indonesia had never fulfilled the taste of justice, especially for the weak, because besides being difficult to feed oneself, it is also difficult to find justice in Indonesia.

We should take heed before this country becomes only a memory that used to be in the world map, a country called Indonesia, a prosperous country but was destroyed and blotted out due to abandoning the religion followed by a majority of its populations.

May the above incident become a lesson for us, that all these while there had always been something wrong with the officials in this country in their policy towards the citizens. They, who are also insensitive and inclined to shut their eyes on falsehood. They, who like it better when moral depravity strikes upon the society rather than bringing their citizens towards a better life.

All in all, do we still put our hope and sell our aqeedah to these people, who had clearly and repeatedly despised our beliefs as Muslims? We should be freeing ourselves from them and conduct da'wah until they repent from their errors in administering this country.

“For We assuredly sent amongst every People an apostle, (with the Command), 'Serve Allah, and eschew Evil (Thaghut)'”. (An Nahl : 36)

Learning From The Soccer Supporters

“Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord; They rejoice in the bounty provided by Allah. And with regard to those left behind, who have not yet joined them (in their bliss), the (Martyrs) glory in the fact that on them is no fear, nor have they (cause to) grieve. They glory in the Grace and the bounty from Allah, and in the fact that Allah suffereth not the reward of the Faithful to be lost (in the least). Of those who answered the call of Allah and the Messenger, even after being wounded, those who do right and refrain from wrong have a great reward;- Men said to them: "A great army is gathering against you": And frightened them: But it (only) increased their Faith: They said: "For us Allah sufficeth, and He is the best disposer of affairs." (Ali Imran : 169-172)

When looking at the soccer supporters, I always remember the supporters of the Mujahideen in the cyber and real world. A very contrasting scenery indeed. When the soccer suporters are getting more enthusiastic when their beloved soccer clubs are in action, while the supporters of the Mujahideen are silent without word and unencumbered (not wanting to have anything to do with it) from the actions carried out by the Mujahideen, but not all supporters of the Mujahideen are running away from the arena in supporting the Mujahideen.

The soccer supporters are willing to die and risk their lives and give a total sacrifice for the sake of the soccer club that they care for, while the supporters of the Mujahideen are only taking a ride on the fame and the name “mujahid” when the situation is safe and not endangering their lives.

There is a verse that should become a reflection for the supporters of the Mujahideen wherever they are, so that they remain persistent in struggling for the thoughts, da'wah and jihad of the Mujahideen in the time of ease and hardship.

"Muhammad is no more than an apostle: many Were the apostle that passed away before him. If he died or were slain, will ye then Turn back on your heels? If any did turn back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah, but Allah (on the other hand) will swiftly reward those who (serve Him) with gratitude." (Ali Imran : 44)

We all should be reflecting upon this verse, though the verse only says about Rasulullah, but we still could do muhasabah (reckoning, settling the accounts and self-interrogation) on ourselves in this struggle. Where this verse is asking that if the Rasul passes away would the Sahabahs return backwards and abandon the da'wah and jihad. Similarly, this verse could also represent the state we are in, that when anyone of us get killed in this struggle of da'wah and jihad, would we become weak, go backwards and abandon this greatest deed ie. Jihad??

Therefore, taking a lesson from these soccer supporters is very important and necessary, they sell their selves to die defending the soccer clubs that they love, and as for us, we have consciously dealed a contract of transaction with Allah, but we still do not provide any defence for the Mujahideen, who at this time have their names and images smeared by the enemies of Allah, let us open again the verse of the never-regressing transaction.

“Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah. then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme. ” (At-Taubah : 111)

This writing is actually meant for the personal self of this writer, who is such cowardly and diminutive, never sacrificing like the Mujahideen who are resolute in the path of da'wah and jihad until death comes by and takes them away. But, this writer still want to present a contribution though insignificant, to the Mujahideen who are on jihad, in writings and thoughts, so that in the akhira later, this writer could get forgiveness from Allah for just sitting down and not conducting da'wah and jihad defending His Dien which today is dishonoured and insulted by the enemies of Allah.

O Allah, forgive this slave of Yours who is unable to do anything, may this little deed is worthy for the struggle in defending Your Dien.

Ustadz Aman Arrested, Islam Suppressed?

This is a sad news for the Islamic ummah. Ustadz Aman Abdurrahman, who is known to the ummah as a struggler of Tawheed, is again forced to accept oppressions from the Indonesian Police and Densus 88. He was seized the moment when he was resting with his wife and three children in his house, at Cipanteneun village, Sumedang, West Java, Friday (19/3) and he was forcefully taken to the police headquarters (Mabes Polri). Is this a indication that the ulama's and activists of Islam are starting to be persecuted?

Ustadz Aman = A Struggler of Tawheed

For the Islamic ummah, Ustadz Aman Abdurrahman, is figure of a da'ie who is consistent in conducting da'wah. Also known as a personality who is intelligent and faqih in Islam, especially on the subject of tawheed. He usually conduct daw'ah in order to clarify the meaning of La ilaha ilallah and its implications in life, in all the regions in Indonesia. The Islamic ummah are always enthusiastic in following his every lecture, because there is nothing that he tries to cover, it is always open. So, why is Ustadz Aman taken by force by the government apparatus?

The regional police chief Nasrullah,was reluctant to make comment about the arrest of Ustadz Amman who lives in his region. He said that his team is only a support team in case it was needed. “Whereas, for the operation of the arrest, it was wholly under the control of the team from Mabes Polri,” he said.

Therefore, why is Ustadz Aman Abdurrahman arrested? Is this arrest only based on assumptions and guesses that Ustadz Aman is linked to terrorism? To date, there has not been any official statement issued by the police.

The Islamic Ummah Must Care

A big question that descend upon the minds of the Muslims right now with this arrest of Ustadz Aman is, “Is this detention an indication that the ulama's and activists of Islam are starting to be persecuted? Just because of conducting da'wah, and wanting to apply the Shari'ah of Islam, and being consistent with the kalimah La ilaha ilallah, does a Muslim in his country where the majority of the populations are Muslims has to be arretsed?

Whereas the Islamic ummah knows that this detention is only based on the slogan of 'war on terror', which in reality is a war against Islam and the Muslims, which is buzzed and led by America, the genuine terrorist. Do the Islamic ummah in this country want to be seized just like that by the doctrines and beliefs of America which actually does not want to see the rise of Islam happening in this country. Due to that, the Islamic ummah must care and follow up conscientiously with every arrest and development that takes place, especially on the da'ies, like Ustadz Aman. May Allah SWT ease his affair and free him soon, Insha Allah.

Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir: Caution! Calling The Mujahideen Terrorists Could Make One Murtad!

EAST JAVA – This month, the medias are again decorated with the intensive news reports about the camp referred by the police as “terrorists”. The tragedy that happens approaching the coming of Barrack Obama and in the midst of the issue of the Century Bank corruption case which is getting more complicated, is surely dense with political nuance, however irrespective of the two cases, to date those cases had caused many casualties.

At least there are 71 confirmed suspects , whether they are those who had died (insha Allah shaheed), as well as those who are arrested or those who are made into the wanted list. A number which is quite big in the history of terrorism cases in Indonesia post-Bali Bombing 2002.

Different reactions appeared amidst the society especially the Muslims in Indonesia, many symphatized with the victims of the Densus 88, at least they showed it by being present in the funeral ceremonies of the Shuhada's who were killed. But, still more are blaspheming and condemning them as “terrorists”.

In his East Java da'wah programme in Surabaya and Bangil (21/03), Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, the leader of the Ansharot Tauhid, as well as one of the founders of Pesantren Islam Al Mu'min in Ngruki, Sukoharjo, Central Java, had the opportunity to touch on this issue. He said that regardless of whether we agree with them or not, they are Mujahids! It is haram to call them “terrorists”.

Moreover, he reminded, “Taking part in blaspheming the Mujahideen with the term “terrorist” is the same as assisting America! And this could invalidate one's Islam. Because, helping the kafir people in their hostility towards the Islamic ummah, whether it be with the hands or speeches, is one of the causes that one's shahadah is nullified”.

“The term 'terrorist' is an American propaganda in order to discredit the Mujahideen, and jumping in the kafir's bandwagon to call them terrorists is the same as aiding them!” He asserted.

In the da'wah programme which was attended by hundreds of jama'ah at Masjid Manarul Bangil, Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir also firmly said that it is not possible to establish this Dienul Islam except through Da'wah and Jihad! Let alone through ways which Allah is not pleased with, such as through democracy by means of parties and elections.

The International lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex association (ILGA) is planning to held a conference in Surabaya, Indonesia on the 26th-28th March 2010. The Salafiyyin camp who are pro thaghut and against the “terrorists” says that this country is an Islamic country? Then, where is the Islam if a case like this is allowed? Perhaps the term Salafiyyin is not right for them….! A bogus Salafiyyin maybe, who are no other than Murji'ah….personally, I would rather refer them as the genuine Khawarij! Why not? Their comments on the Mujahideen who clearly died in beautiful ways (with their fragrant scents and so on), are so intensely awful!

The Front Pembela Islam (FPI) or Defenders of Islam Front would mobilize their masses if the 4th regional conference of the International lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex association (ILGA) in its Asian level is still going to be held in Surabaya, Indonesia. The FPI also did not guarantee that their act of protest will run in a peaceful manner.

According to this amar ma'ruf and nahi munkar movement, the congress that is going to be held in Surabaya is ignoring and disrespecting the religious regulations, mainly Islam.

"If it is still going to be held, we will protest. And, I don't dare to promise whether the demo will run peacefully or not," the board chairman of the FPI for the Jatim (East Java) province, Habib Muhammad Mahdi bin Idrus Al Habsyi, said, during a talk with detiksurabaya.com, Wednesday, 24th March 2010.

In fact, Habib Mahdi said that his group has prepared a 1,000-strong forces of Jihad that are going to dismiss the event forcefully, if the committees insist in going ahead with the event.

Habib Mahdi also added that his group would not hesitate to organize a demo against the police if the permits for the implementation of the congress is issued. Due to that, Habib Mahdi admitted that his group at the moment is keeping up communications with the Provincial Police Department of Surabaya.

The regional conference for the gay and lesbian people in the Asian level is planned to be held in one of the hotels in the City of Warriors (as Surabaya is always referred). It will be attended by some 100 participants that will come from 20 Asian nations. After the conference, they will perform a cultural parade in the city of Surabaya, to display the diversity of cultures from all over Asia. To attract further attentions, crossdressing contests by transvestites would possibly be held as well.

Whereas, homosexuality and transvestitism or cross-dressing are deviant and Islam firmly forbids these things. More than that, they would invite the wrath of Allah Ta’ala. It is this concept that the lesbian, gay, tranvestites, etc. want to change. It is not a surprise that they want to try every mean in order to achieve this objective. This campaign is no other than a ghazwul fikri which aims at weakening the principles of Islam.

In Islam, there are only two sides i.e. one that sides with the truth and the opposite that are on falsehood. If we trace history, we can know who are the defenders of falsehood? Who else if not the Jews, Zionists, Orientalists and Christians. However, what is more dangerous are the enemies from within i.e. the Muslims who want to become their stooges and agents.

The Zionists, Christians, Orientalists and Munafiqeen are united in contaminating the purity of Islam. They work hard in obscuring the teachings of Islam and exterminating the spirits of Jihad into extinction. One of the means is by habituating the ummah with the above sickly campaign of the people who make their nafs (base desires) their god.

In a hadith that is the riwaayah of Ahmad made saheeh by Sheikh Al Albani and recorded by Abu Dawud, at one time Ummu Salamah radhiyallahu ‘anha narrated, “I have heard that Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said, ‘When immorality becomes rampant amongst my ummah, then Allah will spread out His punishments on them...’.”

The Fate Of Living In A Terrorist Nation

. The fate of living in a terrorist nation that terrorizes its society with the millions of sharp and “fine” bullets. But, what is more hurting is the “fine” bullets as they make their victims die slowly, not realizing that they are targets of killings. So, we must recognize the types of bullet which can be so much dangerous, penetrating into the very core of the hearts without us realizing.

The First Bullet is the taxes which are stifling the people with their various names and terms, in which the essence is that all the extravagant facilities, meetings that cost in their billions and corruptions committed by the government apparatus, are using people's money whose lives are stifled by the burdens from the taxes which are piling.

The Second Bullet is the rubbish culture imported from the countries of the kafir without question and rejection. Official festivals and the artists exposed in such manner in the midst of people's poverty, obscene films and noisy musics in the discotheques, are purposely maintained in order to lullaby the citizens and close their eyes from seeing the depravity committed by administrators of the nation.

The Third Bullet is the allowance of the deviated teachings and cults in mushrooming in the society, so that the people are busy and doubtful of their own teachings, until they are tired and cannot afford to find the truth where if they know it, it could shake off the power of the rulers who are corrupt in terms of aqeedah and morality.

The Fourth Bullet is the silencing of the people who still have conscience, with force, overflowing wealth and beautiful females so that they are silent from exposing the shames of the rulers who have plunged freely into the valley of evildoings. But, when they are still protesting, the rulers will resort to dirty manoeuvres by killing the characters, hurling fitnahs and conspiracies so that the good names of those people who are fighting for the truth will dwindle in the eyes of the society.

The Fifth Bullet is the silencing of the medias which are voicing out the truth, with plastic Law Acts and Articles so that they will stop and submit to the wishes of the rulers. When they are still firm in their attitude, then accusations of being subversive and disturbing the stability of the state will come to the media that are against the rulers.

There are still many other ammunitions used by the rulers in silencing every one who tries to expose their evildoings. Another way is through the expensiveness of education and its facilities, so that the people remain stupid and easily deceived, not to mention the psychological terrorization upon the innocents with their accusation of being terrorists, killing and shooting them without any evidence that those accused as terrorists are truly terrorists, which indirectly indoctrinates the common people that those who are accused are truly terrorist who are fit to die.

Until when does the nation stop making the citizens uncomfortable with the various problems which in fact are created by the rulers themselves, just because for the sake of a piece of power the ruling elites can easily end up the lives of human beings?

Therefore, after all these happening in front of our eyes, shouldn't we ask our conscience, who are the terrorists actually? Are they the people who like to carry out da'wah to fix the tawheed of the society that had gone wrong? Are they the people who guard their honors by wearing hijab? Are they the people who like to bring the Qur’an to where ever they go? Or Are they the rulers who until now are making the lives of the citizens more suffering each day? If we still cannot answer it now, then let time be the one that will prove it .

“They want to extinguish Allah's light with their mouths, but Allah will not allow but that His light should be perfected, even though the Unbelievers may detest (it).” (Qur'an 9 : 32)

Then, let all mankind gather and unite to destroy the truth where its brightness exceeds the brightness of the sun at mid-day, their efforts will be futile and they will stumble upon failure, because Allah has promised:

"And never will Allah grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumphs) over the believers." (Qur'an 4 : 141)

And the final words: Wamakaruu wamakarallah, wallahu khoirul maakiriin.

O PKS! It’s Not The Picture Of Al Aqsa!

Saturday, 20th March 2010, Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) or The Party of Prosperous Justice (a so-called Islamic political party in Indonesia – ed.) organized a demonstration of munasarah (to come to aid) for Palestine in Jakarta. Held at Monas, it was reported that the peaceful demonstration was attended by some 1500-plus cadres and sympathizers of the PKS.

A rather big stage was built especially for the demonstration, with a backdrop with the words saying "Save Al Aqsa", complemented with a picture of Qubbah Al Sakhra and not the the real Masjid Al Aqsa.

Not just the backdrop but there was also a replica which could be presumed as meant for Masjid Al Aqsa, which contributed in aggravating the errors in the demonstration on that day.

Between Masjid Al Aqsa and Dome Of The Rock (Qubbah Al Sakhra)

The picture of a masjid with a golden dome on the backdrop and the replica above are not Masjid Al Aqsa. But it is a picture of Qubbah Al Sakhra, a qubbah (dome) from the Masjid Umar (or which is always referred as the Dome Of The Rock) which is golden in colour and allegedly coated with gold. This Is Not A Trivial Matter

In a glance, yes, this thing appears trivial. What’s important is that its message gets across to the ummah, that Palestine is currently being gripped by the Zionist. However, it’s not that easy O Ikhwah, why? Because the disseminations of the pictures of Qubbah Al Sakhra depicted as a symbol for Al Quds is one of the measures taken up by the Zionists to divert the ummah from the true condition of Al Aqsa.

Sometimes ago, we have heard that one of the doors of Al Aqsa (i.e. the door of Al Maghariba) had collapsed due to the land excavation that was carried out under Al Quds, by the Jews laknatullah. We have also heard that the walls of Al Aqsa had cracked as a result of that excavation. Whereas, the photo of the Qubbah Al Sakhra does not show any of the damages suffered by Al Aqsa, where in the picture, it was clearly seen that the building of Qubbah Al Sakhra still looks very fine, strong and beautiful with the golden dome over it. Whereas, in truth the condition of Masjid Al Aqsa now is already very worrying, lots of damages here and there.

With the ignorance of the ummah regarding this matter, it is possible that the ummah (or even ourselves) will become less perceptive and ‘not that concerned’ with the nasty measures taken up by the Jews in destroying Al Aqsa. Because, in our mindsets Al Aqsa is still good, strong and beautiful. Innalillahi...

The Smiles And Fragrant Scents Of Aceh Shuhada's

The Smile of Pura Sudarma a.k.a Jaja

Friday afternoon, at around 17:00 WIB (West Indonesian Time), the janaza of Jaja whose original name is Pura Sudarma was at last buried in his village in the district of Sajira, Lebak county, Banten. That afternoon, more than 1000 people were present to take part in the burial of the man aged in his 50's, who was shot to death in Aceh Besar, last Friday, the 12th March.

Pura Sudarma alias Jaja left behind a wife and four children. The janaza of Jaja left the Polri (Indonesian Police) Hospital, Kramat Jati at around 13:00 WIB and arrived at the resident of Jaja at around 16:00 WIB, Friday (19/3/2010). Reporters were not allowed entry inside the house, there was sign which said "Press off limits!" at the arch of the gate. A banner with the wordings “Welcome, Warrior of Islam” also greeted the entourage at the river bridge that leads to the village. Also, another banner that quoted surah An-Nisa verse 76 was also installed at the house gate.

After the janaza had arrived and was placed inside the house, the funeral prayer was performed by the females, after that the janaza was carried into the masjid for the funeral prayer to be performed again by the male attendees this time, who numbered in their thousands. From the masjid, the coffin of the janaza was straight away carried to the Public Cemetery of Sajira which was 300 meters away into the south from the resident of the deceased. Cries of takbeer, “Allahu Akbar!” were continuously called by the mourners from the masjid to the burial site.

Pura Sudarma alias Jaja was said to be one of the mentors of Abdul Aziz alias Imam Samudra who also hailed from Banten. Jaja was known as a rich man as he owned a lot of businesses. He operated a tour business in Sajirah, managed an orchard in Pandeglang, as well as workshops in Bandung, Jakarta, and Serang.

Whereas another man who was also shot to death in Aceh Besar, named Enceng Kurnia alias Arham had been buried on Friday morning at around 01:00 WIB in Bandung. The janaza of Arham left the Polri Hospital, Kramat Jati on Thursday night at around 21:00 WIB and straight away departed for Bandung. No media reports on the funeral of Enceng alias Arham.

Ridwan's Ambition For Shaheed Finally Achieved.

Last Saturday, 13th March 2010, at around 1100 AM, the janaza of Nico Prestiando alias Ridwan, the man who was shot to death on Tuesday, 9th March 2010 in Gang Asem, Pamulang was at last buried. The janaza of this man who was born in 1978 was rested for a while in the house with the address Bulak Sereh Road, Gg Masjid No 57, RT10/04, Cibubur, Ciracas, East Jakarta. Then, the janaza was uncovered for its condition to be seen. There were five holes from gun shots at the chest area, and fresh blood was still flowing from those gunshot wounds that made Ridwan's body has to be wrapped in black plastic underneath the shroud that covered his body.

According to the news that we received, during the incident of the shootings, Ridwan was floored to the ground in front of the internet cafe in Gang Asem and then shot five times where the bullets penetrated onto the floor underneath and left behind five bullet marks.

Afterwards, the janaza was not washed or its shroud changed again, it was brought straight away to the mussola at the back of the house for solat ul janaza to be performed. After the solat, the janaza of Ridwan or Nico was then carried to the Pondok Rangon Public Cemetery which was located some 7 km away from his house. There were about 40 plus mourners who sent off his janaza for the burial.

Ridwan left behind a wife named Eka and a daughter named Hafshoh who was only 6 months old. Earlier, as was told to his wife, Ridwan said that he wished to die shaheed in Allah's cause. His wife said that at last his do'a was granted. This man whose original name was Nico Prestiando which he later changed to Ridwan, was an alumni of the Mujahideen Camp in Moro, Philippines, he departed for Moro in 2004 and only returned to Indonesia in early 2007.

At last, Ridwan realized his ambition to die as Shuhada killed by his enemies, only the best are chosen by Allah to die in His cause.

Reading The Signs On The Fragrant Scent Of Dulmatin's Body

It has been four days since Dulmatin exhaled his last breath to meet his Rabb (Lord), after being shot by the Densus 88 team in Pamulang, Tangerang Banten on Tuesday 9th March 2010, along with his two companions. The mourners and people who paid respects to the family of the deceased smelt sweet aroma emanating from his body. What does this indicate?

The Janaza of Dulmatin arrived at the resident of his family at around 03:00 WIB.

The reception of Dulmatin's body whose real name is Amar Usman bin Usman bin Sovie was greeted by a banner with the wordings “Ammar bin Usman Sovie not a terrorist but a Mujahid.”

Soon as the janaza arrived at the house of Dulmatin's parents which was located exactly in front of a market in Petarukan Pemalang, the coffin was straight away carried and placed inside the house, which at the same time is also a shop which is green in color.

After the coffin was opened and the family saw the condition of the janaza, they let the attendees which the majority of them are male, witness the condition of the janaza themselves.

In a glance, the condition on the face was quite good, meaning there was no wounds on the face, except under the chin, on the right side (the conditions of the janazas of other "terrorists" that I have seen were not like this, especially the janazas of Air Setiawan and Eko Peyang, their faces were clearly crushed, with gunshot wounds on the forehead and other bruises, the back of the janaza's head was clearly shattered and covered with plastic similar to the thin plastic bag with handle used in shopping. The janazas of Urwah and Adib Susilo who were both shot to death in Mojosongo late last Ramadhan were also the same, their faces and heads were totally shattered). There was something like a gunshot wound or a stab, but why was the wound coming from the back? Didn't Dulmatin fall from being shot and which was not on the neck?

Under the shroud, the body of the janaza was wrapped with a black plastic, unfortunately yours truly did not have the chance to take it off to see the condition of the body from the neck donwards, but I have got the information that one of the family members had gotten the photo of the body from the neck downwards, who told that there were a number of nicely aranged gunshot wounds, perhaps I will write about this one day if I have alreday the data, insha Allah. On the shroud below the area of the private parts, there were patches of blood that were still wet, where I guessed the blood was still flowing, God knows what are the wounds on that area.

Eventually, I went out of the house and waited along with the other mourners while waiting for the Subuh adzan. After the Subuh prayer, I sat around the market area together with the crowds and neighbors of Dulmatin's family. From the stories of my friends who chatted with the neighbors of Dulmatin's family there, they said that this family of Dulmatin are very good in terms of their relations with the surrounding residents, Dulmatin's family like to give away rice or other needs to the neighbors who are in need. Dulmatin's family are known as a rather rich family. In fact, this family own a big building located 1 km away before the grave of Dulmatin, used as factory for harvesting bird's nests (edible bird's nests used as medicine and delicacy are among the most expensive animal products – ed). I could calculate how much income is coming from the houses producing the bird's nests which I passed by while heading for the graveyard. Strange indeed, Dulmatin is from a rich family but why did he leave all those and choose to fight in the Philippines, becoming a fugitive who was hunted by America, Philippines, Indonesia and their other allies?? Only Dulmatin could answer that question, but it could never be answered anymore because the person could no longer talk.

Most of the mourners came from the town of Solo, Pekalongan, Semarang, Kudus and some other nearby towns. In fact, ba'da subuh (after fajr prayer) flows of cars kept coming and increasing.

The funeral procession was officially started by the big family of Dulmatin. Loud cries of takbeer from the crowds in their thousands along with the family members accompanied the procession headed by the vehilce carrying the coffin. One of the villagers even said that “this reception is even bigger than the reception of a president.”

Ba’asyir: It Is A Sign That Dulmatin Is Not A Terrorist But A Mujahid

Though not really knowing well the person of Dulmatin, Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba’asyir believed that Dulmatin is not a terrorist who all this time was hunted by the police.

According to him, Dulmatin is a Mujahid, because he defended the Muslims who are oppressed in other countries, despite being judged as a terrorist, Ba'asyir nevertheless let the society disagree with the jihad in the style of Dulmatin.

"Let the society judge, what I know is that they are warriors of Islam, not terrorists, the terrorist is America. That's what reversed, a thief calling 'thief!' but Indonesia blindly immitated," Ba’asyir said, Friday (12/3/2010).

Besides that, according to Ba'asyir, there is a difference between the bodies of the people who are terrorists and the bodies of those who are not terrorist. This has been proven by the janazas of Dulmatin and friends from the people who had witnessed their janazas personally before they were buried.

“Their scent was fragrant and their blood was still oozing. That shows they are not terrorists but Mujahids, if they are terrorists they would have surely smelt bad even after five minutes, Wallahu a’lamu bis-sowab.” Ba'asyir said.

“Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord.” (Qur'an Ali Imran : 169).

Welcome to this equatorial emerald. A country which actually is rather rich, but your people are cunning enough in seducing its people into accepting the oceans of debt that have become inherited – no idea until what generation – by our descendants. Yes, your people are clever, they are infiltrating our bureaucracy in order to make crazy measures which in turn make our financial status dying and in the end, make us beggars to your people. There is no need for you to cover it up, John Perkins, in one of his movies had admitted sincerely to the world, all the happenings and rotten exploitive behaviours of your people towards us. Welcome to the country of a million pesantrens (traditional Islamic boarding school/madrassa). A country mostly inhabited by the Muslims who are obedient and ardent in seeking knowledge. How unfortunate though, the unwillingness on your parts when we are committed to our religion, make your people frantically engaged in “guerillaism” in our schools. Offering various aids to our madrassas with a condition that we do not teach Islam wholly again. Sufficient is a “tolerant Islam” which remains silent even though the crimes of your people are dancing in front of our very eyes. Then, your people offered education continuation overseas on the pretext of students exchange and broadening of visions, but the truth is that it is a way of brainwashing our generations. They come back bringing the gifts of haywire thoughts. Returning with the crooked ideas which actually is deviating from the teachings of our religion, but still insistent in carrying the label of “Muslim” regardless of how liberal their thinkings and behaviors are.

Welcome to this country which became independent through jihad and was paid with the blood and sweat of the religious students and ulamaa’s. However, your people are very clever, they have the hearts to twist logics. Jihad, the main key for the gate of independence for the people, is now equalized with meanness and wildness, due to the extraordinary influences of your people. Jihad, without which Islam would not have reached our country, is now becoming a convict… accused for all kinds of chaos and hullabaloos.

Welcome to the country which is colored with bootlickers. They have been waiting for your arrival for so long, applauding you just because you had lived briefly in this country, saying “I love the Fried Rice…” So great is their idolization of you, to the extent that they even built a statue of you. Similar to the Bani Israel who had worshipped the statue of a calf. Or the people of Prophet Noah AS who made idols of their celebrated figures. Would the fate that had befallen the Bani Israel or the cursed people of Prophet Noah AS befall us as well?

Welcome, Obama... Enjoy it! Because, indisputably this country is yours. You are the ruler here, though it has to be by the extension through the local people who become leaders in this country. They never forget the crimes against humanity that you lead in Iraq, Afghanistan and other Muslim lands, regardless of the Nobel Peace prize that had been awarded to you. They are those who still see your naked savagery in the land of Palestine, regardless of you pretending to appear as a hero, who only has the passion to scoop popularity without wanting to take a firm action against Israel for being the culprit. Huh... how can you take action anyway, whereas you are – regardless of how many varieties of clothes you are putting on — genuinely a part of that Zionist people. So, I hope you don’t get yourselves intoxicated by the roaring praises from your flatterers first. The existence of these people is influencing your future a lot. Because, to them Islam cannot be defeated. Perhaps, their bodies would be shattered and covered with earth by the ferocity of the war drums you are striking. However, their decomposition will become fertilizers that will sprout new generations after them, which would bring us closer the promises from Heaven that: Islam will surely win!

Mujahid Not Khawarij

Ja'far Umar Thalib, the ex-commander of the Laskar Jihad is back creating a controversy. Interviewed by Metro TV, this ulama who is close to the rulers said that the Khawarij is the same as the “terrorists”. According to him, someone who does not implement the laws of Allah SWT is only kufr in his deeds and that person still could not be declared as kafir. Who are the Khawarij actually?

Who are the Khawarij? The Ulamaa's have explained that they are one of the factions which revolted against a true Imam (Al-Imam Al Haq), and they were openly disobedient to him, and they conspired in fighting him – yet, where is the true Imam nowadays, one who could (is the most rightful to) give a label of 'Khawarij' to people who rebel against him?

Where is the 'Ali bin Abi Thalib of today?!

And if we are the Khawarij, then, who are you (O regimes and O Ulamaa’ who are loyal to them)?! Are you 'Ali and his Sahabahs?!

And did 'Ali RA take the law for his authority from the Legislation (laws) of the Persians and Romans?!

Did he rule based on "Socialism" and "Democracy"? Or was he a caller to "Nationalism" and "Social Peace"?

Or had 'Ali allied himself with and supported the Jews?!

Or had 'Ali abandoned the Hudud from Allah and implemented the laws that had never been sent down by Allah onto this earth? Or could that be said as calling for the application of the Khilafah? A crime that could never forgiven, indeed!

Or had 'Ali fought against chastity and purity, calling towards the "liberation" of women and letting the women to set out on a journey alone freely?!

Or was 'Ali one of the people who segregated the Qur'an into sections (i.e. believing a part and kufr on others)? Those who said: "There is no Islam in politics and no politic in Islam"?!

Indeed, Imam 'Ali RA is excused because he had never done all those things. But, he was the one who wanted to apply the laws of Allah the most, and govern with the Kitab of Allah, as well as the Sunnah of His Rasul SAW. Then, there is no doubt that someone who rebelled against such Al Imaam Al 'Adil is truly a Khawarij (i.e. during the times of Imam Ali RA).

Therefore, someone who revolts against a ruler (who is not implementing the Islamic law) is not a Khawarij; but he is a Muslim, a Mu'min and a Muttaqi (one possessing taqwa).

Therefore, someone who defends the honor of the Muslims, conducting Jihad in His path and is present in the foremost fronts battling the kafir, is not a Khawarij, but he is a Mujahid, a Muwahhid, someone who is always present in this ummah, Al Firqotun Najiyah, the saved group and At Thaifah Al Mansurah, the group that will be given victory by Allah SWT. Amien Ya Robbal Alamien...!

The government always projects their own image as being a populist, that in tackling problems facing the nation they always give way to dialogues, not exhibiting sadism and violence… or so they claim. However, the truth of the matter is that the government are doing harm on the urgency of that dialogue itself.

This was expressed by the spokesman of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), Ismail Yusanto, concerning the shootings of the people suspected as “terrorists”.

"Why, when it comes to our own people, we are too sadistic? Whereas, they are no more than just suspects. They could have been captured alive actually. But, what happened was that they were shot again for making a bit of movement," Ismail said, in a conference with Hidayatullah.com, Monday (15/3).

It was, Ismail continued, a great tragedy for a nation called Indonesia which often carries the jargon of healthy dialogues.

“It made me see this nation as nation that never knows dialogues. I see it as more for the interests of the elites actually,” he explained.

Regarding the statement by certain personalities who considered the coming of Obama to Indonesia in the coming days as all right and said that there is no need of rejection and that Obama should still be received as a guest, in Ismail’s view, that is not a problem.

However, according to Ismail, the stance on rejecting the coming of Obama depends on from which angle one sees it.

“There are two kinds of guest,” Ismail said “i.e. a problematic guest and a good guest. In this case, Obama is classified as a problematic guest with the policy of his government which has wounded the Islamic ummah in various countries.”

“Depends on how we see Obama, how he is like in our eyes. We judge Obama as an invader and he has committed munkar, so we are rejecting him,” he said.

The argumentation by one of the public figures who quoted a hadith of the Prophet SAW which said that a kafir guest still has to be accepted, Ismail said that the hadith to be used should not be that one.

Also in the hadith of the Prophet SAW, Ismail explained, there is an injunction that when we see munkar we reject it with all the abilities that we have.

“This is the hadith that should be used. We reject Obama’s munkar,” he asserted. (syk/alm/sahid)

Just look at the roadsides cafés, places of immoralities and cinemas showing “cheapies” movies, they thrive and are so free to do their activities and made legal by the Nation.

But when you want to change this country into becoming better, clean from vices and obedient to The Creator, then let alone from receiving a smile, thousands of insults will come by and nestle inside your bodies instead, until you could no longer breathe, you die slowly or are made to die.

But just be calm, this is a trial in struggling for the Truth. In this trial, patience and istiqomah are required, so that Allah SWT knows which of His slaves are truly with iman and firm in His path. Just as Allah SWT says in His verses of love:

"Or do ye think that ye shall enter the Garden (of bliss) without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? they encountered suffering and adversity, and were so shaken in spirit that even the Messenger and those of faith who were with him cried: 'When (will come) the help of Allah.' Ah! Verily, the help of Allah is (always) near!" (Al Baqarah : 214.)

In another verse Allah SWT also touches on the struggle with our desire to enter paradise.

“Did ye think that ye would enter Heaven without Allah testing those of you who fought hard (In His Cause) and remained steadfast?” (Ali Imran : 142)

So let us look at all this as a trial on our iman to Allah and His Rasul, and at the same time as a proof of our love for this pure and noble Dien of ours.

“Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, 'We believe', and that they will not be tested? We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. Do those who practise evil think that they will get the better of Us? Evil is their judgment!” (Al Ankabuut : 2-4)

Happy struggling! Enjoy everything that would fall on us, be it good or bad, in treading this holy path. Allah is always with the believers. Allahu Akbar!

"But those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, We shall soon admit to Gardens, with rivers flowing beneath,- their eternal home: Therein shall they have companions pure and holy: We shall admit them to shades, cool and ever deepening." ( An Nisaa : 57).

Jihad is not just a temporary rihlah (journey) that will end in a certain country. Jihad is not a short term goal. Therefore, it must be truly embedded in the self of a Mujahid that Jihad is not a gain that is going to be obtained easily and it is also not quick journey. But Jihad is the journey for a lifetime which always accompanies life. Jihad will never end as long as the blood is still flowing in the veins.

Jihad is not merely for the liberation of Afghanistan, Palestine or Iraq. But Jihad is an ever present duty and an ibaadah that must be habituated on the shoulders of every Muslim, as long as he is still treading his feet on the ground and carrying weapons.

Indeed, the Jihad of a Muslim is not merely for the liberation of a piece of land. The battle that he performs is not a tribal or national one, but a battle where the scope covers the entire land and all time, as well as having the objective of eradicating kufr and shirk, until the Dienullah is truly established and is above all other diens.

Allah Ta’ala says:

وَقَاتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّى لَا تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ وَيَكُونَ الدِّينُ كُلُّهُ لِلَّهِ فَإِنِ انْتَهَوْا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ

“And fight them on until there is no fitnah, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily Allah doth see all that they do.” (Qur’an. Al Anfal: 39)

The Tricks Of The Enemies Creeping Into The Bodies!!!

Still remember the Watsiqat Tarsyid Al-Amal Al-Jihadi fi Mishra wal Alam written by Abdul Qadir Abdul Aziz? Yes, because that ex-offficial of the Jihad Jama’ah in Egypt had caused a commotion in the world of international Jihad. The reason was that Abdul Qadir Abdul Aziz, in his writing, criticized some of the actions of Al-Qaeda. A bailer was then intercepted, Ayman al-Zawahiri, a fellow Jihad figure from Egypt had to come down and speak. Though it was not the first work that had criticized Al-Qaeda, it was only then that Ayman commented on the thinking of Abdul Qadir Abdul Aziz. This phenomenon contributed to the build up of heat in the climate of Jihad opinions in this country (Indonesia –ed.). The camp which was inclined to be critical towards Al-Qaeda, such as the camp of Sabili, published that taraju’ (retraction) in its Indonesian edition. Meanwhile, the party which was pro towards Al-Qaeda, was active enough in distributing the protest by Ayman in various medias.

Forget the frenzies resulting from the release of the Watsiqat. Let’s move to the statement made by Abu Yahya Al-Libbi. In a video release with the duration of about 40 minutes, one of the two persons who were successful in escaping from the Bagram prison along with Umar Al-Faruq—rahimahullah—also gave out a response, which in a glance look similar to the commentaries made by other Al-Qaeda’s high officials. However, he pointed up one judgment in it which was quite interesting. Al-Libbi considered the release of the book (Watsiqat) as a kind of trickeries invented by the enemies. The objective, according to Al-Libbi, had been plainly obvious i.e. to make the Mujahideen busy with debates, reactions and protests until they become negligent towards the true practices of Jihad i.e. to conduct the Jihad of fighting the tangible enemies. What was also interesting was that Al-Libbi did not condemn Abdul Qadir Abdul Aziz at all. He did not say that the ex-figure of the Jihad Jama’ah was the “author”, but called the book as something “designated” (mansubah) to Abdul Qadir, though the video of Abdul Qadir officially releasing the Watsiqat was circulating. In fact, even in mentioning the name of Abdul Qadir, Al-Libbi added it with the do’a of goodness: “farrajallahu lahu.”

This affirmed the belief of Al-Libbi that the book, once again, was a part of the great conspiracy in fighting Jihad and the Mujahideen. It could be that the Watsiqat was not written by Abdul Qadir— though associated with releasing the video of the book launching. Even if he did, it was not free from the conspiracy and intervention of the enemies. Some kind of carefulness in viewing something fuller and deeper, not simply for the sake being swept away in quarrels and mere debates. Sure, besides displaying the highness of akhlaq of a Mujahid, he was also guarding the honor of a fellow Muslim, by not attacking his person. A discourse was objected with a discourse, not to the point of stabbing the character and personality of an individual. Such a difference from our local condition, where an uncertain figure easily hurl accusations and fitnahs at the figures of Jihad movement in Indonesia— whether it be through the internet or any black leaflets— lauding one figure and blaspheming another. A change in the climate of the movement which is too drastic and arousing suspicions, that should be assumed as a part of the enemies’ intelligence operations in executing the “character assassination” on certain figures.

Creating the atmosphere of frenzy full of quarrels and debates between the Mujahideen is only one amongst the many tactics of the enemies of Islam. In the same video, Al-Libbi exposed two other ploys. The first is the usage of weapons in killing the Mujahideen. Face to face combat and deployment of the entire war machines in order to suppress the Mujahideen. An obvious maneuver as can be heard, seen and felt by anyone i.e. as what is happening today in Iraq, Afghanistan and other Jihad lands. The second is hidden in characteristic— the same as the atmosphere of frenzy mentioned earlier, this is more to the action by the intelligence i.e. by hiring the suu’ ulamas so that they are willing to deligitimatize Jihad. Consequently, strange interpretations appear which sterilize the meaning of Jihad until it is deviated. Though quite effective in influencing some Muslims on one side, the canalization in thinking is obvious enough on the other side. It is only effective amongst the general public, meanwhile the ahlul ‘ilm and sincere people are able to differentiate which are ordered/bought fatwas and which are not.

Besides the three things explained by Al-Libbi above, at least there are still two other things which become the strategies of the enemies in suppressing Jihad and the Mujahideen. The first is the social operation, by spreading opinions plus a bit of intimidation as the main weapon. How to create a social environment which does not support Jihad and the Mujahideen? The image of the Mujahids are projected as troublemakers by labeling them as terrorists. The concrete example is as what we have felt not long ago during the funeral of Urwah and company — rahimahumullah. How the society that was just cool in the first place suddenly became ignited as if truly hating those “terrorists”. Series of news filling up the mass media at that time did not in any way attach the fabrication and intimidation by certain elements. The society was conditioned as such to make them move away from Jihad and the Mujahideen. Unfortunately, at the same time, the activists now and again – don’t know why – uttered and reacted in a counterproductive way, which instead made the society hate them and move further away.

Lastly, it is the internal virus that is not always realized amongst the Jihad activists: infiltration and provocation. The enemies purposely help in maturing a Jihad operation plan before its due time, by provoking some Mujahideen to execute premature operations. Premature in the sense that not enough consideration of a strategic study for the execution of the next move was made, even if it is planned, all the data and information regarding the activities have already been monitored by the enemies. It is not uncommon that they are suddenly present amongst the Jihadists as figures who are so enthusiastic in supporting Jihad. In fact, they are willing to bear the financial and logistics. Thus, when an operation takes place, the enemies could easily suppress it and carry out their hidden cause which was deliberately mounted on that operation. A pattern like this has diverse motives. It could be a medium for the shifting of issues – when the enemies are made desperate politically by their opponents in politics, or just intentionally making the fruit of Jihad matured before its time, until the “negative impacts” of Jihad for them could be localized and anticipated. The destructive impacts for them would not be like if the fruit of Jihad is perfectly matured.

As the dzirwatu sanam (pinnacle) of Islam, the ibaadah of Jihad has fadhilah (virtues) which are much higher than the other deeds. That is what makes some Muslims never absent in carving the ways of Jihad from time to time. We surely do not want Jihad developed by the Muslims to be based on an engineering which instead was planned by the enemies of Islam, for a variety of their interests which precisely are unfavorable for the Muslims. We certainly are not willing when the ibaadah of Jihad which sacrifices the best of everything owned by the Islamic ummah, has its fruits plucked by the enemies of Islam. This article is not meant to deflate the ruh and deed of Jihad at all. It is only as an expression of unwillingness from the writer, when the wells of blood and tears poured by this ummah end up in cheers and laughter from the enemies for their victory over the success of their trickeries. Enough is Ali Moertopo with his well-known Opsus (Special Operation) to become the last episode of a tragedy for Jihad in these countries, no succeeding generation thereafter. Hasbunallah wa ni’mal wakiil.

A Facebook account containing blasphemies on Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, while praising Almarhum (the late) Urwah and Ustadz Aman Abdurrahman—hafidzahullah, appeared on the internet. Regardless of how different the opinions amongst the activists of Jihad are, it has never blasphemed and ruined the good name of a figure in the caliber of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir—hafidzahullah. Scrutinizing the behavior on the internet, those who condemn him are normally people who are anti-Jihad. If there are people who claimed to be sympathetic to Jihad by favoring a figure, but at the same time ruining the reputation of another figure, it should be suspected as an intelligence operation. An operation which had been used by the British when they destroyed the movement of Sheikh Ahmad Irfan (one of the Jama’ah of Jihad in the 1800’s) in India was by fanning the issue of Wahabbi amongst the Afghan tribes.

What cannot be forgotten is the strategy of "character assassination" suggested by the Rand Corporation. This anti-terror think-tank body ever recommended the tarnishing of the characters of Jihad figures, as one of the steps in muffling the actions of Jihad movement in Indonesia.

Those strugglers, from the Trio Mujahids to Dulmatin, they were the few whose ‘ilm had already attained it, they had sold their lives to Allah with Jihad. Witness… Allah SWT Himself has given the signs, Allaahu’alam… with their fragrant scents, the bodies of the Mujahids who had been labelled as “terrorist” by the jahil.

O majority of the ummah, if the Muslims in this Indonesia (with its 150 million in numbers) are 'picking up stones' and saying “establish Islam!”, this country will become an Islamic country overnight insha Allah; but your are not doing that! You are sedated by the comfort of this dunya under the 'armpit' of thaghut! Those strugglers in the cause of Allah, they, who were only in their dozens were the ones who bore the burden on their shoulders.

Those who are being pursued, fought, sieged and shot, whose numbers are not even reaching 1000, are the ones who carry the burden for you, the 150 million in number who are not performing their duty; in fact you even join in condemning them as terrorists and criminals like those enemies of Allah SWT.

Would you, O majority of the ummah be left by Allah in the akhira, claiming to be ruled by the Qur’an ad Sunnah, honoring Rasul SAW with your maulid, but every hour of your lives are willing, either you realize it or not, to be regulated by the religion of democracy and ideology of nationalism? The thaghut law would not make you eligible for paradise, even if you pray or perform hajj every year. How do you think? Are the ummah going to be let by Allah claiming to be Muslims but hindering the establishment of Dienullah and Justice??
