The Polri Special Staff, Kastorius Sinaga, denied all the rumors that said that the Police Chief, General Bambang Hendarso Danuri, was summoned to the Palace, Cikeas, or the reasons that were developing which had caused the Kapolda’s (head of the provincial police) ‘transfer of position’ postponed the other day. Apparently, after the arrest of Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, the Police Chief fell ill.
"Those rumours are not true. At 17.40, the Police Chief called me and told that he was ill at the home office," Kastorius Sinaga said, as quoted from Kompas.com.
"Mr. Kasto, I am at my home office. I am sick," thus the police chief said as reported by Kastorius. Then, Kastorius asked, "What is wrong with you, sir? Now there are too many vague rumors about your self."
The police chief answered, "Nothing much, I am tired. I felt nauseous and dizzy to the point that I could not attend the function of the ‘transfer of position’.”
Kastorius asked again, "There was a rumor that you are being summoned by the boss, Mr. President to the Palace. So, how sir?"
Bambang Hendarso denied it. He also denied giving an explanation to the (police) Chief of Division of the Public Relations, Inspector General Edward Aritonang. "I could not tell the Head of PR about my condition," Bambang told Kastorius. The police chief invited Kastorius to meet with him on Wedensday (18/8/2010).
This Special Staff of the Police Chief confirmed that the relation between the Police Chief and the President is fine. "Please straighten this thing out," Kastorius said.
Earlier, the (police) Chief of Division of the Public Relations, Inspector General Edward Aritonang, denied the report that was circulating which said that the "disappearance" of the Police Chief for one day was due to exhaustion and that he had to rest at home.
"No. No. The police chief is fine. He is well," Inspector General, Edward Aritonang said.
The Polri also flatly denied that the Police had failed to induct five new officers within the Polri HQ, one of them was the Polri’s Head of PR, due to being summoned by the President. As for the summon, it occurred after a higher police officer was dragged into demotion based on his decision of not accepting the decision.
"No. No such thing. He wasn’t summoned," he said.
Responses Of ABB’s Supporters
The sickness of the Police Chief who disappeared for a day yesterday Friday (14/08/10), spread among the circles of the Islamic movements in Solo. They precisely hoped that the police chief is ill and realizes that the pain is a warning to him for the arrest of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir.
In the event of “the nights of concerns” which was organized by the Jamaah Anshorut Tauhid (JAT) Solo on Thursday and Friday nights, it was filled with tausiah (tazkirah) and do’a addressed to the Chief of Police and Densus 88, followed by a congregational taraweeh and recitation of the do’a of Qunut Nazilah, as well as the do’a of damnation on the Densus 88.
As was delivered by the PR of JAT, Endro Sudarsono Spd, the other day, the purpose of the events (the nights of concerns) was in the framework of developing a routine for the members of the JAT Solo and not forgetting to pray for the Chief of Police, Bambang Hendarso and Chief of Densus 88, Tito Karnavian to perform a muhasabah or introspection for all that they had done by consciously arresting and detaining an elderly ulama’, Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, approaching Ramadhan 1431 H.
Responding to the news that the Police Chief is sick, the Islamic ummah of Solo feel a little excitement as their do’a had been answered.
And when asked about the illness of the Police Chief, whether it was because of the do’a of the Islamic ummah in Indonesia who opposed the detention of Ustadz Abu Bakar Ba'asyir or it is just a factor of merely a coincidence, Abdul Rochim Ba'asyir, the youngest son of Abu Bakar Ba'asyir presented a diplomatic response.
"Wallahu a'lam. All the things unseen are in the authority of Allah, which are unknown by the humans," thus was the initial response the youngest son of Abu Bakar Ba'asyir when contacted by Muslimdaily via the mobile phone.
"However, we -the Islamic ummah- believe that the prayer of an oppressed person is ijabah (approved). The distance between the do’a of an oppressed person and Allah is not separated by a hijab, to the extent that his do’a is directly heard by Allah and quicker to be answered," he added.
"Let alone the do’a of the oppressed people in this country due to the acts of the Polri and government’s apparatuses in general, it is not only us (the supporters of ABB - ed) who feel it. There are victims of the gas cylinders, victims of the excessive actions of the Densus 88, victims of the corruptions of the police officers- the holder of ‘fat’ bank accounts, etc. If the number of people being oppressed are such huge, then the potential of those do’a being answered is very big," he said.
"We do not believe in the existence of the chances in this world. Everything happens by the will and qadar of Allah, that there is no factor of coincidence in it. And we believe that do’a has power!" he affirmed.
Iim, as Ustadz Abdul Rochim is more intimately known, also appealed to the Islamic ummah as a whole to improve the quality of their iman and the quality of their do'a during this month of Ramadhan, because Ramadhan is a very noble month for offering do’a. He appealed so that the Islamic ummah which are presently adrift being tossed about helplessly by the interests of the rulers and always victimised, makes do’a for the power and glory of Islam and the Islamic ummah.
