KEBUMEN, Indonesia – At last, the janaza of Yuli Harsono 33, who was shot to death by the Densus 88 in Klaten some time ago, in conjunction with the arrest of Abdullah Sunata, could be buried in the Islamic way. After a nine-hour journey from the Kramat Jati Polri Hospital to Kebumen, at 08:30 hour, Tuesday, 29th June 2010, the janaza arrived in Dukuh Duwet village, Kebumen.
Hundreds of sympathizers had been waiting at the house, who were mostly youths from a number of towns, including Solo, Jogja and Semarang. Those hundreds of youth were waiting in front of Yuli's parents house, shouting takbeer repeatedly while receiving the janaza. After that they were allowed to go inside and witness the janaza. "The Janaza is smiling!", yelled one of the sympathizers after coming out from the house.
Next, it was followed by a prayer for the janaza, which had to be done alternately for five times. Some sympathizers chose not to participate in offering the prayer, those who did not perform the prayer considered Yuli Harsono as having died in the state of war that the solatul janaza was unnecessary.
After the solatul janaza, the casket was then carried by those youths in their hundreds, on foot, heading for the burial location which was 3 km away. "Allahu Akbar! The police are kafir!", yelled the youths, whereas there were dozens of police personnels at the burial location, whether in official dressings or plain-clothed.
Finally, at 10:00 hour, the funeral procession was complete and closed with a do'a by an Islamic figure of Kebumen from the FTJ (Front Toriqul Jihad) named Mr. Daldiri, who offered do'a while shedding tears, as well as reminding the youths to not forget struggling and be strengthened by Allah.
