During the time I was there, I had eaten at the Burger King in Peshawar, became heavily addicted to drugs and alcohol, and had also been given a 3 year sentence.
Mike’s attraction towards Islam came in 2001, when his Afghan translator gave him a Qur’an. Mike actually had a feeling of deep respect for the spirits of the people he fought and he really wanted to understand what could be found in their system of faith which inspired a very great devotion that he could never understand.
Last month, a year after studying privately with Imam Sabur, Mike uttered the shahadah at the Masjid of Kemble Street, Utica, New York. Now, he has officially become a follower of the Islamic religion.
As a Muslim, he prays five times a day, after washing his body, to prostrate facing towards the Ka'bah in Makkah. (The first time, he used a compass and marked the direction of the kiblat with a tape on the floor.)
"Islam," the imam said, "is a way of life which is more than merely a religion. Islam teaches us how to do everything, and all those will become a form of our worship towards Allah."
Mike agreed. He agreed with all the rules that he encountered when becoming a Muslim. Not too strange for a soldier like him. Mike said that both Islam and the military had a structure that is not too different. "The military is not too different in the area of discipline from Islam."
He monitored the prayer’s timetable from the website of a Masjid every day. The prayer timetable was arranged in accordance with the position of the sun, from sunrise to sunset. He must wake up early, at 04.30 am local time.
Mike has a cumulative performance index of 4.0 in the State University of New York, and he planned to obtain the title of Ph.D. after going through a scrutiny and if he passes the trauma counseling. He had also been an inmate who was detained due to suffering from stress and a very scary mental disturbances.
If Uncle Sam uses his finger as a pointer for the Oija board, to look for the youths who could be a benefit for the US military, most probably that pointer would stop at Mike.
He is tall, likeable, handsome, with upright body posture fit for a soldier without any flaw, and he speaks in a gentle tone, full of confidence, intelligent and has a wide vision, he had always been selected as a leader when he was still in his job and in fact even in his time in the campus and community.
Mike was one of the US soldiers in the first wave of US forces sent to Afghanistan in 2001. Then, 15 months later, he was tasked to be in the first wave of US forces sent to Iraq. Just like most other combat veterans, he likes talking about funny memories that he had brought home.
He was the happiest person when hearing that there was a Burger King in Peshawar, Pakistan, which borders with Afghanistan. If there was no public transport crossing at Khyber, he and his friends would purposely make a journey to Jalalabad which took one and a half hour. The journey was made in a group of 12 people in three vehicles full of weapons.
"We would run and get our burger, eat it and run back to Pakistan. If we come across others on the road, we would easily kill them," Mike admitted.
Notwithstanding that, he would always be in fear and have nightmares.
"All parts of my body," he revealed in a low voice, "were as if they were disconnected from each other."
However the Imam rescued him.
"I don’t know, as if I was feeling something from Imam Sabur," Mike said. "He has already taught me how to have faith."
Maybe because Imam himself is a veteran and he just retired after having a career for 20 years in the Department of Correction in New York.
"Mike knows that there was nothing new and surprising from me," Sabur said. "I only listened and reminded that anybody would have made mistakes in the past, or might also make mistakes in the future. Only Allah is perfect, other than Him is not."
Mike joined the military in 1998. His first semester in the teaching institution did not go well, and through the suggestions of his uncle so that he would become more disciplined and mature, he joined the military. All of them were veterans from the navy, and they told me stories about their achievements, expedition and comradeship. As if they were giving him the impression that the military life is more pleasant than the university life, even though he knows that none of his uncles had been in the battlefields.
After his first journey, Mike said that what he dreamt about became real. He was stationed in Korea and Bosnia, visited 27 other countries, obtaining and wearing beautiful medals on his uniform. He also got the appreciation and inauguration, and he was enjoying every minute of it.
A month after his contract was finished, the WTC twin towers were attacked and he returned to the military service.
Mike wanted to become one of the medical staffs in the Special Forces, however they had made him to be one of the specialists in the civil affairs, which was apparently “no other than a social work which was overly esteemed.”
His task was to do evaluations and observations in the villages, negotiate with the notable figures in the villages, talking about building schools, clinics and hospitals where ever it was needed, and organize the construction for them.
"I was someone who could enter, smile and be happy: ‘Look, we will give you all a school.'"
However, he was not immune from the ironies of life in the former palace of the old kingdom in Jalalabad, which he said was "too attractive before we destroyed it," or in Fallujah, before "the members if the marines came and brought destructions to that place," and then as if they were giving presents to the population there through the various facilities which had first been destroyed by America.
"They didn’t like us because we had destroyed all that they have got," Mike said. "And we had to accomplish a lot of developments so that the image of the US military forces improved."
Nevertheless, the civil affairs handled by Mike was still an old job that he must accomplish. He liked to contribute and he "wanted to do something pleasant, like breaking doors and fight in the battle."
Due to that, Mike who served at the same time as a Bravo 18 weapon specialist, joined the team that were doing the actual fight, but only during the night time because if he went out during the daytime, he would be discovered. That way, he would experience hardships in “returning to join the next day and give ‘smiles’ to his enemies.”
But as time went by, he could not do that something he liked with freedom. Four months in his first tour, he began to be haunted by some nightmares.
The medical unit gave him Valium and told him, "If you do not sleep, we could not employ you."
He started to consume one Valium every night, but after a month he needed three to four Valium to make himself able to sleep.
He also consumed alcohol. All his friends did the same thing. One of the reasons was to bring out courage, as alcohol is also the reason for the soldiers to equally share each other’s fears.
"We could use ‘drugs’ or any things. Whatever happened, whenever we returned and before putting down our weapons and stuffs, someone would take out a bottle of alcohol and we would then talk about anything."
"That was a normal thing to do. If we were not drunk, we could not freely express our feelings, especially amongst friends."
This thing happened when they were in Iraq and began to become users of heavy drugs.
"With the American money, you could enter any pharmay, and they would give you whatever you want. I asked someone to write Oxycontin and Valium on a piece of paper in Arabic, but later they started to recognize me."
Of course, he became seriously addicted to drugs and alcohol. Then, the Armed Forces sent him to the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Supervision and Prevention Program when he was sent back.
He stayed in a very quiet and boring condition for eight weeks, celebrating his graduation as a soldier with 12 packs of drugs and he went to a bar.
Mike was so depressed and he tried to commit suicide. He took all the drugs provided by the VA to him.
"They did not make me dead," he said, "that’s why I was still drinking and becoming more addicted to drugs."
Then Mike surrendered himself and offered himself to be detained in the state prison.
After he stopped being an alcoholic, he spent his days in the prison by reading al-Quran, and he began to attend class. When he came out from prison, he straight away joined the community of the Masjid of Kemble Street and he was asked to be an imam.
However, Mike chose to become a counselor at SUNY and VA. When he first freed himself from the military, he felt that he could undertake it alone.
Mike made a few big changes in his life, including finishing his Ph.D. He knows for sure that his status as someone who had been a bad guy and an inmate forces him to step forward ten times more compared to his friends in the campus.
However, it did not make him give in. He was reminded by the words of Imam Sabur. Nobody is free from making mistakes. From then on and in the future, Mike had the opportunity to improve himself and always obey the order of God, just like what he had seen on his enemies during his times in the battlefield.
"Because a Muslims has a big spirit, in fact it could never be measured when he realizes that his iman is only presented to Allah. This thing is so different from the American people," Mike said.

The Citizens Of America And England Are Prepared To Die For Islam

A taxi driver in the US and a part time worker in a bakery shop in England... now they have returned to their homeland, Somalia to fight against the "enemies of Allah".
"Hey brother, what’s up?" Abu Muslim said, speaking in English everyday, on the phone with his friend over the other end, Abu Dujanah.
Both of them were trained in South Lower Jubba to become a part of the Al-Shabab group, a jihadi group related to Al-Qaeda and committed in driving out the foreign finvaders from Somalia, as well to force the munafiq president of Somalia to step down.
They have become one element and grew together as the forces of Allah who now returned to Somalia to fight against the enemies of Allah.
Abu Muslim left his job in a university and worked as a part time worker in a bakery shop in England.
"I don’t come here to look for (worldly) contentment, actually I am prepared to die for the sake of my faith," he said, as reported by AFP during an interview in Mogadishu.
An athletic person, lightly bearded, wearing slim spectacles and a white turban, he said he came back to Somalia at the end of 2006 to fight the invasion by the Ethiopia forces and expressed his admiration for Sheikh Usamah bin Ladin.
"I don’t believe that other countries have included him in the list of the most wanted people. He is the most courageous Muslim in this century and they used his name in order to justify the invasions that they have done," this 28 year old fighter said.
He still possesses credit cards in his wallet, however he prefers his new life as a fighter, to sleep along with his other Muslim brothers, carrying their weapons along the coastline of Somalia.
A latest video circulated on the internet showed a white man originated from America, Abu Mansur al-Amriki who called for all his Muslim brothers wherever they are to come and live as mujahids.
"A lot of people think it’s a difficult process to come to Somalia to conduct jihad, however it is not a too difficult actually, as they were a lot youths from various countries arriving here recently," his friend, Abu Dujanah, told AFP on the telephone from the south of Somalia.
"I have been in Somalia for a year and a half and fought against the enemeis of Allah," Muhammad, a 23 year old Mujahid said in English.
Abu Dujanah left Somalia in 1994, 3 years after the war against President Mohammed Siad Barre began. He and his family lived in the US thereafter.
He went into the secondary school but failed to go to the university.
"I used to go to the entertainment places with friends a lot, the life in the US is full of pleasure, but it is not a Islamic way of life," he remembered
Under his family’s pressure, he changed his lifestyle and found a job. He became a taxi driver but soon realized and became a mujahid that bleeds the hearts of America in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"I could not stay silent anymore with what happened to our brothers there... and I was determined to help them regardless of the many borders that I had to cross," he continued.
"My dream became a reality after uniting with the Mujahideen in the land where I was born," he said happily.
Abu Dujanah told that he might return to the US to see his parents, but he‘s not missing his home too much, he had found too many happiness in jihad in Somalia.
"We do not come from the same one place, there are lot of youths like me here, from America and other countries in Europe who are united in the war against the enemies of Allah and I hope there will a lot more “waves” of assistance arriving soon."

This Is How The Al Qossam Rockets Are Made

What a bloody fear Israel has of Hamas. And how frightened they are by Al Qossam, the rockets made by Hamas. Those Rockets that are made by hand at home are as if they can never run out and are never-ending. Compare it to Israel who imports weapons, including rockets from big countries like Germany and the US, besides that Israel also produces their own weapons where of course none of them are made at home or made by hands.
The Israeli rockets are factory and machine made, which have a range capacity that can reach thousands of kilometers and an explosive capacity that are impressive. But it does not cause Hamas or the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip to be in fear. Israel can anytime launch their weapons, rockets, missiles and bombs, and the fighters of Hamas are always standing by.
The fighters of Hamas truly understand the verse of the Qur’an which says: "Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly." (Qs. al-Anfaal [8]: 60)
And this is how Hamas make their weapons, the Al Qossam rockets, to struggle against the terrorist invaders of the Palestinian land, Israel.

Ah, looking out tearfully at the prison yard
The world of the forgotten ones is very hard
In the lap of death
Thus the heavily tears run into swollen streams
We are the Muslim prisoners within these chains!
Humiliated and violated as you deny
In the silent empty rooms where oppression remains
But if upon our Lord (Allah) we do rely,
Then they'll be neither worries nor the hardship pains.
Few stories like this, with a virtue warmed,
Few hearts with al-Tawheed, so informed!
Thus you live well in a state of satisfaction
As the prisons come with great oppression
So contemplate always and be grateful
Prefer to live in honor, dignity and joyful
Rather than living in disgrace and awful!
But if you ever shall ask us how we prisoners live?
We say to you : Nay, are we afraid of death in belief
For some day, some how, every living soul has to die!
O you in a state of bliss, if you ask us how we live?
We take heart and hold firmly onto the rope of Allah,
Thus, these weak limbs of ours are a sacrifice for Allah.

For Obama: The US Is At War Against Islam!

Responding to the news release that circulated recently, where Obama said that, the US is not fighting a war against Islam... what an idiot if someone believes the words of that American President.
Are we forgetting of who AMERICA is?
Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri said :
"And I am asking from my Muslim brothers in beloved Somalia, Somalia which is full of patience towards jihad, so as not to be deceived again by those who agreed with the secular constitutions that compete with the Islamic Shari’ah and its laws. And I say to them: why have you all sacrificed thousands of martyrs to establish the Shari’ah if in the end someone comes to you today hoping that you would accept a constitution which is not set up in accordance with Islam and by participating in this single government, you would attack the Shari’ah?
And I say to them: why have you all sacrificed thousands of martyrs to purify the Muslims in Somalia from the touch of the American crusaders if one day someone comes to you to deceive and say that America has a positive role in Somalia?"
Have we forgotten who America is?
America is the enemy of Islam and the Muslims, and it was her who had killed tens of thousands of Muslims in Somalia through their agents and own forces.
Have you forgotten the first time America entered Somalia, and sent all its agents and air forces?
Did not America enter Somalia to obliterate Islam and to make Somalia join in the circle of crusader coalitions in the war against Islam which they commanded with the “war on terror”?
Was it not America who destroyed the Muslim houses and villages in Afghanistan and Iraq, and was not a country that provided Israel with all the sophisticated equipments to be used for tearing apart the bodies of the children, women and all the Muslims in Gaza?
And was it not America who attacked Iraq and killed up to a million Iraqi children and now it is attacking the Muslims in Gaza?
Therefore, how is it possible for us to hope for anything good from America? We would only get decay, badness and destructions. How could we believe someone who claims that America has a positive value Somalia? The positive value of America in Somalia is to fill in the pockets of the munafiqeen with bribes and power.
And why have you, Muslims in Somalia sacrificed thousands of martyrs for the sake of purifying Islam in Somalia from the invasions of the murtadeen if one day someone comes to you and wants you to change the names and formats from the invaders, however an invasion is still an invasion and an occupation is still an occupation.
And why have you sacrificed thousands of martyrs to resist the American invasion that hides behind the UN, and then someone comes to you and deceives you by saying that you must honour the principles of the UN?
Honouring the principles of the UN is the same as believing in another law besides the Islamic Shari’ah. And it also means acknowledging the control of Palestine by Israel and Chechnya by Russia.
Sheikh Nasir bin Hamad alFahd, may Allah free him from the prison, said:
"And regarding the evils which is fighting against the Muslims and those who want to bring Islam down, there are many. If we have to explain to them, it is going to need a very long time, from Kabul down to Mogadishu. However, we are going to show some statistics which indicate the issue:
1. More than 1 million children in Iraq had been killed by the American bombings. The American power also carried out embargo since 10 years ago.
2. Thousands of newborn babies in Iraq suffered blindness due to the absence of insulin hormone.
3. More than half a million people wished to die from the result of the radioactive poisoning (in relation to the usage of uranium munitions by the American).
4. The American weapons had killed thousands of the people in Palestine from amongst the elderly, women and children.
5. Thousands of refugees in Lebanon and Palestine had been slaughtered by Israel with the supports of America.
6. Between the year 1412-1414 H, the American military had butchered thousands of Somalian civilians during their invasion in Somalia.
7. Year 1419 H, America launched missile attacks destroying Sudan and Afghanistan, where they wiped out a pharmaceutical factory and killed at least 200 people there.
8. Israel, with the full backings by America killed more than 17,000 local populations during its invasion of Southern Lebanon.
9. The American embargo of Afghanistan had caused more than 15,000 Afghan children dead. Here we have not included the slaughtering done by America in Chechnya, Bosnia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Kashmir, the Philippines, and other Muslim lands."

8. Israel, with the full backings by America killed more than 17,000 local populations during its invasion of Southern Lebanon.
9. The American embargo of Afghanistan had caused more than 15,000 Afghan children dead. Here we have not included the slaughtering done by America in Chechnya, Bosnia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Kashmir, the Philippines, and other Muslim lands."

Taliban Is Getting Nearer To The Capital Of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistani Taliban is making a move further into the area of Pakistan. Now they are very close to the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, after they have managed to establish their rules (Islam-ed) in the region of Swat Valley and got accepted by the populations there.
Around 20 vehicles that transported a number of Mujahideen entered the Buner District, 100 km North West of Islamabad on Monday (6/4).
The local office confirmed on Monday that it was true that the Mujahideen had entered the town area and were fighting the police personnels of Pakistan in some parts of the Buner district.
The Pakistani Taliban had succeeded in controlling the Swat Valley and implemented Islamic rules in that region. The Swat Valley is located around 160 km from Islamabad.
The Taliban admitted that the attacks they had launched in Pakistan which targeted the US kafir forces and its allies, was as a response to the American missile attacks which they had often fired into the tribal regions of Pakistan and killed innocent civilians.
The Taliban had repeatedly warned Pakistan that they would do "something" in the capital of Pakistan if Pakistan continues to battle the Taliban and supports the "war on terror" launched by the US.
Even though it is now recorded that there are around 70,000 kafir forces in Afghanistan, that number does not reduce the spirit of the Mujahideen, instead they even become stronger from day to day, and their strength and deployments have even spread into the borders.
If the Taliban Mujahideen in Afghanistan are focused in finishing off the kafir forces every day, then in Pakistan, the Mujahideen are carrying out attacks on the transportation convoys that bring logistics for the US terrorist forces and its puppets in Afghanistan.
The growing strength of the Taliban Mujahideen in Afghanistan and Pakistan made the US burnt with exasperation, and it tried to look for new strategies to fight them, including using the sly tricks of intending to pay the tribal chiefs in the rural areas of Pakistan to help the US. The US had also embraced new friends in order to join forces in the war in Afghanistan, one of them is Russia.

The newspaper also reported, that "Websites that call for the hatred against the Jews/Israel and attack against the Israeli leaders are also increasing drastically in those countries lately, compared to the global economic crisis incident that hit the global economy in the last quarter of the year 2008 and before the latest war in Gaza."

The Differences Between Abbas and Haniyah

Who Really Is Mahmud Abbas?
Post-Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, Palestine had a few agendas that were quite strange. Besides fully prepared for the actions of Israel who at anytime could act cruelly and barbarically, they were also made busy by the confrontation between Hamas and Mahmoud Abbas.
The reason was, Abbas, who was recklessly and arbitrarily made as the President of Palestine, attacked Hamas with baseless accusations, such as that the aggression in Gaza was caused by the rocket attacks launched by Hamas into Israel. The statements of Abbas made a lot of the international media implanted by the Jews, happy to corner Hamas as the instigator of the war in the land of Palestine. Who really is Mahmoud Abbas?
Mahmoud Abbas, born in Safet, on 26th March 1935, now aged 73 years, was generally known as Abu Mazen. He became the president of the PNA: Palestinian National Authority on 9th January 2005 and assumed office since 15th January 2005. Abbas was born and raised in Safet. Soon after finishing elementary school in that town, he migrated to Syria after the 1948 war. He continued secondary school and higher education in Damascus. He established the first Palestinian council in 1954 in Syria. This was his early political career.
In the early 1960’s, he became an officer in the Education Department of Qatar and befriended Yasser Arafat (1929-2004). He then became a member of the Palestine National Council in 1968 and led an informal negotiation with Israel in 1977. Since 1983, he was a member of the executive-committee for the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as well as leading the national and international committee which concentrated in the affairs the non-governmental organizations. He restarted the secret negotiation with the office of Israel in 1989 through the mediation by Holland. He kept on doing the activities of back-door negotiations with Israel during and after the Madrid conference in 1991. Post-the Madrid conference he was given the trust to become the coordinator for the negotiation affairs, he laid down plans and guidelines for the Palestinian team of negotiators.
Abbas was the first leader of a revolutionary organization to call the acts of struggle and martyrdom operations by the people of Palestine as“terrorism”, “the dishonorable” and “the futile weapon” and he was also the first leader to carry out security coordination with Israel in arresting the fighters from his own people. And he was also the first president to hug, embrace and kiss the killers of his own people. Without any shame, he praised and smiled with the murderers. He became a close friend of Ariel Sharon and George Bush.
Abbas was the first person, due to his presidency for the security body, bold enough to violate Allah’s masjids, murder the imams, the memorizers of Al-Quran, in his own country. The blood of Sheikh Majdi Bargothi, Muhammad Rafati, Nahidl Nimr, Muhammad Raddad (a memorizer of Al-Quran) were the most obvious witnesses to his sadism. Under the government of Abbas, the policy under his first directions dared to launch violence towards the Palestinian civilians and let loose of the Muslimahs' jilbab and veils in the public streets and campuses. When Abbas first governed, he shut down the social bodies and Al-Quran memorizers constitutions. He judged as guilty those constitutions that sympathized with the orphans and families of the victims, as well as the poor families.
Abbas has the principle of, "There is nothing that can replace dialogues " which he of course refers to the Jewish interests. Not surprising when he later became the first man who was committed to the professional Boundary Commission which reduced his country's own sovereignty and gave it to Israel. This was what he did when he agreed with the Rafah Crossings agreement which was signed by Muhammad Dahlan and Israel in 2005. It was said that this was also one of the reasons which triggered Egypt to open Rafah for Israel, thus instigated its aggression towards Gaza, in December 2008.

There are a lot of differences that shine on these two figures. As Palestinians, both of these two figures treaded two different paths in struggling for the freedom of Palestine.
Like his predecessor, Yassir Arafat, Mahmud Abbas prefers the “peaceful” way with the Zionist Israel which in daylight is obviously robbing the land of Palestine. For Abbas and his PLO – it’s better to get a bit of the Palestinian land rather than nothing at all. Therefore the means of diplomacy, negotiations and peace agreements with Israel are more often chosen by Abbas and the PLO.
On the contrary, Ismail Haniyah is the leader of Hamas and also a Prime Minister who was legitimately elected by the people of Palestine – he prefers the way of “struggle” against the Zionist Israel. The rockets from the brigade of Izzuddin Al-Qassam which is the military wing of Hamas, are routinely launched into Israel.

Taliban Jihad Against West Funded By Emeralds From Pakistan

The kafirs are discussing about how Al-Qaeda managed to tackle the global economic crisis, which is what they failed to attain due to the absence of taqwa that leads them to receive fortunes (rizq) from Allah in times and from directions that people never imagined.

Abdul Karim Shah, director of the Gems and Gemological Institute in Peshawar, estimated that the Taliban could already earn up to £2 million a year from the mines now operating, with more to come as emerald deposits potentially worth millions are tapped into.
One newly reopened mine, near the Swat capital, Mingora, had been sealed since 1998 because of a legal dispute between the government and a contractor. Now workers use picks and shovels to dig for emeralds, excavating dozens of new pits and creating a cratered landscape. "We have given instructions to workers to lessen the amount of destruction," said Wahidullah Khan, a Taliban soldier at the mine.

About 70 Taliban recently occupied another emerald mine in the Shangla district near Swat, a government mining official said. Taliban gunmen forced out local officials and hired their own workers, who were promised a 50 per cent share of the profits.
"They have engaged 1,000 people and the number is increasing," a Taliban commander said. "It is a great opportunity for the people, as there is so much poverty and unemployment here."
One of the workers who is benefiting, Shad Ali, 24, said: "I earn at least Rs1000 (£8) per day. When I find a stone during digging, I take it to the Taliban's office here. It's weighed there and my share of the price is given to me." He said the mine had proved a "blessing" to poor people in the area.
Emerald mines in Pakistan and Afghanistan are thought to contain nearly 10 per cent of the world total, and during the 1980s the mines of Swat yielded a quarter of a million carats of emeralds - worth £15 million in rough, uncut form.
A government mining official in the area, who is powerless to enforce the government's writ, said: "If the Taliban continue selling the emeralds they will become very strong and it will be impossible for the government to dislodge them."

Bringing Islam To Papua

JAKARTA — Wearing a traditional long white-flowing robe and sporting a beard, Fadzlan Rabbani Al-Garamatan has been going door-to-door and visiting the remote areas of West Papua province to promote Islam.
"I offer different kind of life to animists and non-Muslims there by applying humanity approaches," Fadzlan told IslamOnline.net in an interview.
West Papua, formerly West Irian Jaya or Irian Jaya Barat, is the least populous province of Indonesia.
The former Dutch colony has a population of approximately 2.6 million.
Christians make up nearly 78 percent of the population, Muslims 21 percent while the rest are Buddhists and Hindus.
There is also substantial practice of animism, though it is not recorded by Indonesian census.
Fadzlan, 40, has been spreading Islam in the province since 1990 by door-to-door visits to various remote areas.
He educates people about cleanness, health, patience and politeness as the basic elements of Islamic teachings.
"I was walking twelve days to reach one remote area and when they started to say Shahadat, I was crying."
He recalls a visit to another remote area where locals were very suspicious about him.
"Some of them were bombarding me with stones and even arrows, but now they are with us."

Through his Al-Fafti Kaffa Nusantara foundation, Fadzlan says they have built 900 mosques, providing medical services and teaching locals about their new religion.
"At least 10 thousands people have been our followers."
Indonesia is the world's largest archipelagic state comprising 17,508 islands.
With Muslims making up some 90 percent of the 225-million population, it is also the world's most populous Muslim country.
"At least 109 tribal chiefs have embraced Islam. Each tribal chief leads 500 local people under him."
Born into a Muslim family on the 17th of May 1969 in Patipi, Fak-fak, he was already studying Islam since at a very young age. His father was an elementary school teacher, as well as teaching Qur’an in his village. “We in Irian, especially in our village, must already study Al Qur’an when we go in to the elementary school at class 1” he said.
His religious knowledge increased when he was at university and being active in various religious organizations in Macassar and Java. This third child from seven siblings chose the way of da’wah in the end. He formed the Al Fatih Kaaffah Foundation of Nusantara.
Through these social bodies and human resources development, Ustadz Fadzlan – thus he was always called—introduced Islam to the Irian society, even reaching into the remote areas. He also expands the available potentials and resources, finding opportunities for the local children to undergo educations outside of Irian.

The Media that has affiliations with the government of Saudi Arabia such as Al Arabiah TV station, publicized in a mega scale that statement of lullaby by King Abdullah, and analyzed it in a ridiculous way.
What’s even uniqe, the deceitful King Abdullah later on delivered a statement that proved the transparent supports of Saudi Arabia for the Zionist Israel. He said, "Not only in the religion of Islam, in fact, it was also mentioned in the Taurat that the qisas for an eye is an eye, not the whole eyes, therefore the qisas of an eye for an eye must be done on the oppressed people of Palestine!"
Through that statement, King Abdullah accused the Islamic Resistance Movement of Palestine (Hamas) as a guilty and evil party. According to him, Israel’s brutal attack on the oppressed citizens of Gaza is a form of "qisas" which is in accordance with the teachings of Al-Quran and Taurat. In the sight of King Abdullah, the Zionist Israel regime is on a true path, whereas Hamas was accused as being the trigger of the battle. In conclusion, the Israeli aggression could be justified. That statement was in line with what Tel Aviv claimed all these while which stated that the battle was launched because it was Hamas who first started it all.
The King of Saudi Arabia who called Hamas as the instigator of the war, did not want to lose face by advising the Zionist Regime of Israel, "Why do you act excessively in carrying out qisas?" The effort of King Abdullah showed that he believed the Zionist Regime of Israel was innocent in the 22 days battle, in contrast with the statement made by the Foreign Minister of Israel Tzipi Livni. Livini said that the attack in Gaza was aimed at destroying Hamas down to its roots.
In the end of his statement in the economic forum in Kuwait, King Abdullah said, "Saudi Arabia feels obligated to say thank you to all the countries that have endeavored to stop the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip, especially Egypt."
